Julgolax
I have read most of Dark Apostle, about half actually, and time and again, as we know we get small scraps of the infamous book of lorgar. What I am wondering is, has anyone, anywhere on earth been able to compile, at the discretion and acception of the tops at Games Workshop, a full book of lorgar. All the pages of anti-imperial doctrines, "truths" of chaos, the ways of the gods, BASICALLY the "evil" codex astartes. Now, I know you Word Bearers are going to say that it either cant, or shouldnt be done or at least attempted but what proper chaos player especially Word Bearer players wouldnt want a 2 or 3 hundred page book all on chaos itself, it would be a chance for me to get the 4 books of chaos, I wish I didnt miss them.... Damn.... Anyway, anyone possibly catch me on an oversight? If not, lets here what it would take and why it couldnt/shouldnt be done. Julgolax
No one has anything to say? :) Well, if no one wants to comment, i guess this tread can be closed... :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/137393-did-gw-bl-or-anyone-else-release-a-full-book-of-lorgar/#findComment-1584626 Share on other sites
TheDarkApostle
Take it easy, it's not even been up for a day. In places like these that are not completely crowned like the AA or the PQA things might take up to even a couple of days before a propper answer. Now on to your question, as far as I know, the only parts of the Book of Lorgar are the pieces written here and there in stories and in their IA. There is no full book of it released anywhere. :) TDA Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/137393-did-gw-bl-or-anyone-else-release-a-full-book-of-lorgar/#findComment-1584627 Share on other sites
Ensis Ferrae
if it were to be released, do you think it would be like the "uplifting primer" of imperial infantrymen book series??? where is got some humour (dark humour of course) but also some of the bits from various other BL books, and interesting codex like phrases and whatnot? benno_wallace
I doubt there will ever be a book printed. The Book of Lorgar is half is part his turn to chaos, part bible dedicated to the gods and part spellbook and summoning rituals. That and now there isn't just one book anymor it is multiple annuls compiled into what is singularly called the Book of Lorgar/ There is no standard set up for organisations of chaos marines like the Index Astrates. I highly doubt GW would produce a book on how to priase the dark gods and cast spells and summon daemons, it just doesn't really work, it sounds like a fun idea but it is all but impossible to make viably interesting to the reader Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/137393-did-gw-bl-or-anyone-else-release-a-full-book-of-lorgar/#findComment-1585123 Share on other sites
Sons of Horus
we probably wouldn't even be able to understand 3/4 of the book. i doubt they'd waste time making a full version. x_beowolf_x1
plus if they even if they decided to print a book with all the content benno_wallace suggests, then the huge surge of "OMG GW ARE ALL SATANIC WORSHIPPERS" I doubt that they would want that. Of course, even public opinion such as that cant stop the gods of chaos!! Lord_Caerolion
Yes, but the Liber Chaotica didn't have "to summon a Bloodletter, perform 'x'. To gain the favour of the Dark Gods, you should do 'y', 'r', and 'z'." A proper Book of Lorgar would have to deal with summoning the daemons, how to bind them to your will, everything people associate with Satanic rituals. That sort of stuff was kept well clear of in the Liber, and for good reason. I don't think parents would take kindly to a company selling a book to their kid on how to summon naked daemon-women, or any of the other daemons for that matter. Sons of Horus
well all the liber chaotica did was to explain stuff about the specific god not summon its minions! Black Dog got away with it, but I'm not sure GW would go through the effort just to plastic-wrap the Book of Lorgar to prevent little Jimmy from seeing demon-skanks and their attributes. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/137393-did-gw-bl-or-anyone-else-release-a-full-book-of-lorgar/#findComment-1585753 Share on other sites
