The Phantoms V2.5

Why would the Chapter do so? It just seems like you're attempting to cultivate a relationship with the Adeptus Mechanicus, but what depth does it give to the Chapter? Serfs and Artificers don't need Adeptus Mechanicus training - Techmarines can provide that.

Also - in Beliefs you should mention the rampant xenophobia in the Chapter. The Phantoms were apparently created to destroy aliens, yet you seem to have them focusing on Tau. So they'd hate Tau, but not Kroot, Demiurg, Nicassar, Vespid, Orks, Necrons, Tyranids...

It was a thought. From that thread I gathered that Marines are sent off. So I was thinking "why not just normal people?" I could say that most tech marines are on Alacanth and they help maintain production.

And oops, I missed that part. I was so wrapped in the Tau I forgot everything else  I shall get to work on that immediately.

Children here are taught how to craft weapons and various items that the Phantoms would use.

I think you should explain this more. Are the children making bolters, grenades, chainswords, etc? How are they learning how to do this? I don't think civilians would know how to manufacture things that the AdMech have issues with.

Other than that minor thing, this looks really good.

The Mecanicus don't have issues with most things used by the Astartes. Civilian factories with decent machines wouldn't have much trouble making things routinely used by space marines such as ammo, grenades, combat knifes and chainswords. However I wouldn't see a space marine using anything made by a child. Even the knifes would be manufactured out of materials to hard to force by hand let alone a child's hand. Then there is the question of craftsmanship, after all space marines get second dibs on the good stuff, the Mecanicus are more or less required to provide space marines with at least basic equipment. So what would you use, an iron knife made by a child which is quite likely to break on ork's skin, let alone armor, or a laser sharpened adamantium blade guarantied to cut a thousand ork heads without going dull?

Thanks for the imput guys :tu: I kinda got carried away there. What I mean is that the children are sent off to have lessons in how to craft such weapons but it's only until they're adults that they actually make these weapons on a regular basis.

I wouldn't use a bolter made by a child; it would probably explode on me :P

I'm really lost. All Space Marine Chapters receive supplies from Forgeworlds. There's a position in most Chapters known as the "Chief Victualler". He's responsible for supplies.

You seem to lack the basic understanding of how a Space Marine Chapter operates, so you kept caught on these insignificant issues that really don't matter.

Decided it was about tim i struck at the enemy's home

Looks pretty good, some of it I don't like, but that's just my personal opinion. Nothing too counter to the fluff in there.

To add my $0.12 (ten extra 'cos I'm awesome) to the normal humans working on Space Marine supplies, I have two words.

Chapter Serfs.

Decided it was about tim i struck at the enemy's home :)

:D Well looks like you did ;)

You're gonna have to point out watcha don't like :P I'd like to know, so I can decide whether to tweak it or not :P ;)

:) cheers for the extra dough :P

And good point. But I decided to ditch the idea of civilians making SM weapons after much controversy.

a great IA Hubernator im glad you pointed me to it, it was a great read ;)

i really like the beliefs section, it was very well written. (add to that, your IA has cleared up what kind of thing i should chuck into my 'combat doctrine' section - admittedly i had no clue what was ment to go in it)

im just extremely curious about the scheme. (i call you the scheme man for the amount you constantly produce :) ) so why did you choose this one?

dont say green fetish XD

<<Damascus>>

Ta very much Damuscus :D Glad I could help for your Beliefs fluff.

As for why I chose the scheme, when I was a proper newb (a few months ago :P) I really liked it and came up with ideas for it. And I chose green because I didn't want to use black :P

twas a pleasure :woot:

if you'd like, i've done LOADS of weapons, and pretty much all the loyalist tanks (cept the razorback) so i can make phantom ones if you like :D

so what's gong into the IA next?

EDIT: thats nice ;) im naming my Knight Titan after Blackraptor for spotting something...i might do 'competitions' lol

  • 2 weeks later...

Time for a small update folks. I've (almost) written up the Torrok War, so take a peeky at that :P

One more thing, since the 1st Company is different I felt they needed a varied scheme. So I came up with this:

I've also got one for CM Viktor Kraw, just for a perspective on colour:

Watcha all think???

PS: still waiting for those pics Damuscus :D
