Midnights Edge

Origins

Night Lords war band, seperated from legion shortly after Horus Heresy Archion clad in ancient, beaten and tainted terminator armour. A robustly built warrior even those loyal to him would'nt even argue with his final word, thus Midnights Edge came to be.

Home world

No confirmed base of operation, for the most part to be fleet based many ships dating back millenia.

Title
utilizing a crusader pattern land raider obtained on a terror raid of a forge world, it has since then been adorned with nasty looking spikes and any trophies that have been aquired during raids and skirmishes, the trophies are mostly that of champions from other warbands and the odd skmish with loyalist marine companies as well as heads and iconography from other races and anything deemed fit for display is then put on the spikes

Combat techniques

need inspiration please help

Have you changed anything since last time? This is your DIY, not ours - you need to flesh out what you have a bit more. At the moment there's no specific feel to this legion, so it's hard to make recommendations.

I can say this: their stated purpose of guarding the Night Lords dreadnought supply seems odd. Night Lords are all about hit-and-run terror raids - making a subunit of the NLs whose job is to just sit in one place seems weird. And even if you want a chaos warband that primarily operates in a rear-guard function, your organizational choices seem to reflect a raiding force more than a stationary garrison.

What do you want these guys to do? If you were going to game with this army list, what kinds of 'stories' would your games be trying to tell? I think by giving them such a static mission, you've really limited yourself as to the group's possible activities, both in the past and in the future.

Maybe this will help inspire you: think about what armies you'd like for your chapter to have fought against. Come up with some history for this group, think of ways you could have come in contact with the adversaries (or allies!) you'd like for them to have had. And at the risk of beating a dead horse, seriously reconsider changing this chapter's overall mission - I think it's the biggest hurdle you'll have to coming up with an interesting history for them.

They won't be a legion, for a start. They'll be a chapter. Also, they look VERY similar to the Night Lords (which you need to spell correctly in your sidebar). If you really want to make them your own, mix up the colour scheme a bit. Otherwise you might as well play NL. I'm still confused as to why they are different from the NL and why they are considered seperate from the rest of the legion. :)

JJmug this is not 4chan.

I hope to god it never becomes like it either.

13th Goat and I share the same confusion, just what makes these guys different to the rest of the Night Lords legion? More explanation and, perhaps, a re-imagining of ideas would be a good thing. Re-evaluate your inspiration and see what about makes the Crypt Keepers special to you, and perhaps seperate it from the Night Lords stuff, so that it is much clearer to us on how to help you.

i've been tweeking little bits of the IA trying to make it flow better, thinking how i can describe it to the best of my ability. If any parts still confuse please say or if any thoughts come to mind (cause i'm struggling to come up with much else)

Right then, to work. :P

Homeworld section:

So you have a homeworld, eh? Good! Tell us about it. Is it a barren, weather-worn wasteland, where great, dangerous creatures roam? Is it a lush, tropical paradise that hides the true horrors of the chaos legion who call it home? Does it have a name?

Origins:

To my mind this is the most important part of a chaos legion - I'd seriously consider writing more detail for this section. What's the deal with these guys? Are they a traitor chapter, disenchanted with the dying, corrupted Imperium? Are they an ambitious warband, seeking to break away from the misguided leadership of anotehr chaos lord?

Your beliefs talk more about the Crypt's defences than your marines' beliefs. What motivates them, what keeps them fighting?

Presumably, what with all the links to the legion, your gene-seed is Night Lords. You might as well say so, having mystery geneseed only adds one more question to the list.

The colours could also do with something a little more... unique. Try adding some black or purple, or something crazy like white or bronze, see what you think.

There's your criticism. :P Enjoy. :P
