What´s up with Lorgar?

Recommended Posts

This is, what's up with him apart from doing nothing noticeable in the last 10,000 years? I think GW has left Lorgar with no background even when he was instrumental (although rather underground at the beginning) in the Horus Heresy.

I think that after 10K years of writing and chanting all day maybe you have the drive to do something different just to not grow bored...

Seriously, does anybody know what is of Lorgar? He is a daemon prince, ok. But how is his relation with the Chaos Gods? How does he serve them? Does he pursue his own (delusional) agenda as he is not sworn to any particular god? It is more difficult to imagine relations between DP and Chaos Gods when their ascendancy is granted by more than one god (maybe more than four :) ). Maybe he was gifted with daemonancy and then left alone with all his delusions by the gods, or was tricked by them as he is not so important for them (although he doesn't know) after they used him as their pawn and rewarded him for what he helped to provoke before the Heresy? In either case I feel he is not aware he was utterly used and his elevation and further oblivion by the gods was a meagre reward for his services.

Moreover, why was Erebus and not him directly who lured Horus to the path of Chaos? Why the secrecy and the "behind the stage" behaviour?

Dont have a steller opinion of your Primarch do ya? If I had to guess I would say Logar is the most powerful chaos warrior in the univerve at the moment (although Abby would proberly surpass him if he accepted daemoncy). GW don't like using Primarchs in their campaigns, hence why Angron is the only one that's been heard from and even then only once. You're asking why hasn't Lorgar been heard from? Why hasn't Mortarion, Fulgrim, Magnus or Perturabo?

Oh and as for the Erebus question, Lorgar would have had to abbandon his expedition or divert it completely. It would have been hard to justiffy this action to the big E.

Yes, I sound as if I was to renounce to my Legion, haha! It's true, GW don't like to include Primarchs in campaigns, but I think they could be more "active".

Do you think Lorgar could be more powerful than other dedicated primarchs? I don't think so.

I definitely don't see Lorgar as the most power Daemon-Primarch. I think that would go to Angron or Magnus... Yeah, I don't think my own Primarch is the most powerful. Actually, with the dominance it seems Khorne and Nurgle have in the present-time, Anrgon and Mortarion may be. Who knows, GW sure doesn't tell us.

Lorgar has been doing quite a bit of stuff over the 10k years, for instance he has been in full control of his entire Legion, something not really seen in ANY other Legion at all, and since he's the head man, he's the one who has been sending the likes of Jarulek, Erebus and Kor Phaeon around to do his work. And on the note of why Erebus would walk around doing the corruption and stuff, I would imagine that a lesser Space Marine would have a much easier time to move around unnoticed then a Primarch...

Also, other the being in charge of his whole Legion, still, Lorgar also takes part as the head of the Council of Apostles, the organ that issues all orders within the Word Bearer Legion. Also it should be noted that the Word Bearers are said to have enought cults and cultist mobs to rival even the Alpha Legions cult cells. ;)

Angron's been out for a bit of exercise at least twice; the Dominion of Fire and the First War for Armageddon. Magnus the Red has attacked the Fang directly since the Heresy, too. There is still plenty of scope for other Traitor Primarchs to be revealed as having taken part in actions in the Imperium during the last ten thousand years, I reckon.

Also, remember... Fulgrim has shown his face once or twice, he took down Gulliman (thank god). Alpharius has been out and about, and may still be. The only ones you really don't hear from are Mortarion, Perturabo, and Lorgar. Night Haunter is dead, so he's out of the picture.
I'd like it if GW just gave a slight mention of the primarchs, just to further the story.

I'm not asking for them to appear in the summer campaign or anything major just the odd mention here and there just so we know what they're up to.

As you said.
