konskrypt
Have been trying to get this figure sorted for a while, as wasn't sure i could do it justice. However this is what I have managed to come up with. Please let me know what you think. Be honest http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a114/konskrpyt/Pict0083.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a114/konskrpyt/Pict0084.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a114/konskrpyt/Pict0085.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a114/konskrpyt/Pict0086.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a114/konskrpyt/Pict0087.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a114/konskrpyt/Pict0089.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a114/konskrpyt/Pict0088.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a114/konskrpyt/Pict0090.jpg Forgive the quality of the pics Cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138313-the-bat/ Share on other sites
Lord_Tzeen
from what i can see from the pics, that looks great :P ..inspired by the Spawn and Batman films maybe? ;) (batman for the obvious, and Spawn for the way the cape is) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138313-the-bat/#findComment-1596005 Share on other sites
Commissar Molotov
It shows a lot of promise, actually - I wish you just had better pics of the Marine! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138313-the-bat/#findComment-1596013 Share on other sites
Dehumanizer
He looks very cool, though tbh it lacks detail. some more batlike emblems on the greaves and shoulders would do the trick I think. The base looks very cool, I see this batmarine standing in the moonlight watching over unsuspecting hive people. Did you use that batmarine drawing as inspiration? I know I saw something like that on here some time ago. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138313-the-bat/#findComment-1596017 Share on other sites
SpudWhitman
Excellent work on the base. That type of Aquila architecture is prevalent throughout Hive Gotham, is it not? Nice job on the cape as well. konskrypt
As an addition to this, am looking for some advice on the painting of The Bat. Don't wanna end up with a standard black all over. Had thought of dark blue, but not overly sure on how to go about it Help/advice would be appreciated Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138313-the-bat/#findComment-1596073 Share on other sites

Weiss
In terms of painting, you could do a cell-shaded type thing with a blue/purple as in the comics. I think that would look quite cool. Alternatively, you could go for the retro look of gray... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138313-the-bat/#findComment-1596128 Share on other sites
Reyner
Why not try doing him in black but highlighting with blue instead of grey? Seen that on some Black Templars around here and it looks good, don't think he would look too great in grey colours  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138313-the-bat/#findComment-1596149 Share on other sites
metcalfedan
I can't believe no-one has done this yet: NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA BATMAN! Love the base by the way. konskrypt
Temp fix Bats to base. Made a paper template to get rough shape. Rolled gs out with rolling pin, getting it thin (not keen on the thickness GW does them) Used paper template, cut out gs, let cure for 1/2 hour, cut edging. Draped on model in rough shape, then tidied up slightly. Then placed the base laying down, on top of a cupboard, so cape was hanging in the open. Then left to cure, every so often check positioning. Left overnight Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138313-the-bat/#findComment-1596198 Share on other sites

konskrypt
Am considering putting a batarang type thing on his utility belt. As would like to keep to the Batman ethos of him not using an actual gun. As he uses fear, guile and cunning as weapons Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138313-the-bat/#findComment-1596550 Share on other sites
James
not too shabby! you could use one of the posessed or emperors children's heads to make a joker! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138313-the-bat/#findComment-1596651 Share on other sites

mad_rob
Liking that Post pics of when it all painted Plus.. How you do such good green stuff? Grrr All I can do with it is VERY simple gap feeling (Blobbing it in) And blobs under foot to stick men to un-even bases :-( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138313-the-bat/#findComment-1597330 Share on other sites
Baal Dropout
To be honest... the pics dont do justice, but from what I can perceive, Bat's gonna say otherwise :good: (and the cape is ace ;) ) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138313-the-bat/#findComment-1597395 Share on other sites
Lion in the Stars
What's wrong with the gray suit? The Animated Series costume looks really sharp (and is easier to paint, too!), and would look better on a mini than unrelieved black. Brother Karr
I say a paint job much like the Azrael Batman would look awsome. Or black with blue highlights Weapon wise he needs to have some kind of sword or thunderhammer. Just kind of thinking along the lines of batman begins ending with the sword fight or as you said no weapons but batterangs and grenades and psychic bolt (he would be a high level inquisitor) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138313-the-bat/#findComment-1597763 Share on other sites
konskrypt
Thanks for the praise!!! Commissar Molotov
I presume he means when Jean-Paul Valley became the Batman for a while after Bane broke Bruce Wayne's back. Check this and this for examples of his costume. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138313-the-bat/#findComment-1597837 Share on other sites
