Custodian Athiair
next enstallment Jokof marched down the walls making sure that all of the defences were prepared. Jokof had managed to find Nemhad's psyker. Lying dead with no head in his quarters. So Jokof was alone, he had no long range contact. The only person he could talk to was Aesclius, and whenever he did hail Aesclius, he got no reply. As he paced up and down, seeing men collect their ammo packs, and ready their weapons, we thought where Aesclius was, if he was going to drop in or appear from some where. He hoped that he would arrive at the right time. Until then he would have to make sure his men held the line. Demons were evil, chaos in itself, death incarnate. Demons only purpose is to kill, they were created by the gods of chaos to destroy the inhabitants if the material universe. Jokof knew that alone the Imperial Guard would be destroyed with relative ease. So all he good do was hold the line and hope that the Sons do appear at the right moment. Otherwise this planet was lost. Aesclius stood on the Command Deck. He was getting impatient, when where the demons going to attack. At least he knew they were prepared, the entire company was on full alert. Everyone had their weapons loaded, and their armour on. As soon as the demons attacked everyone would move into the transports. Although the Sons were very good demon fighters, it was what they always hated, it was them that took Herakles away, so they trained excessively against demons. Some would say that they where second only to the Grey Knights in prowess against demons, they were fools. No one was as good as the Grey Knights, and that was why Aesclius had sent out the distress signal to Titan, he prayed to the Emperor it had be received and was being acted upon. He turned. “Tuy, keep the scanners up, as soon as the demons start to attack I want to know, and even more importantly if the Inquisition show up,” ordered Aesclius “Very well sir,” answered Tuy. And with that Aesclius left. He had to get ready, he had lost all of his weaponry in his previous fight against the demons on the orks ship, so he had to go and collect new equipment. He then remembered that he had called out to his Chapter Master Ephor. He hoped the Imperial Guard could hold out until the Pentekosty arrived. He knew that the Grey Knights would arrive first, as they had better maintained ships, as they were much much closer to Mars then any other Space Marine chapter. They would get here quickly, he hoped they would. As he marched to the Armoury he got a call “Sir, demons have appeared,” Tuy's voice rang through his armour “Good well, the guard are going to have to hold out for a bit longer,” replied Aesclius “Sir, there is a call from the Officer,” “Patch it through,” Aesclius switched to the frequency of the Imperial Guard vox. “Yes Officer Jokof?” “Captain, we are under assault, will you be joining the battle?” asked Jokof “The Sons shall be down soon enough, just keep them at bay, reinforcements shall be coming, may the Emperor Protect,” and with that Aesclius cut of and hurried to the armoury he didn't know how long the Guard would be able to hold out. Once he reached the armoury he picked up his usual weapons, and marched out. “Tuy, send out the loading siren, I don't know how long the Guard will be able to hold out and I want everyone ready to go as soon as I give the order,” Aesclius hurried up to the Command Deck, he wouldn't leave until the last transports was about to leave. He heard the siren, marines started quickly making their way to the launching pads. When he reached the Command Deck, he stood next to Tuy, he prayed that the Grey Knights would get there soon. “Tuy how are the Guard doing?” asked Aesclius “As far as I can tell, they are holding the demons at present, but I cannot see how close the demons are to the lines,” answered Tuy “Good, let's pray they can hold on a bit longer, have we got an ETA until Ephor gets here?” asked Aesclius. “All we have got is confirmation, that they are on their way,” answered Tuy “And the Grey Knights?” “Nothing sir, although they are the Inquisition,” answered Tuy. “At least they shall feel the force of 3 and ½ companies upon them!” declared Aesclius. The Sons were a very different chapter, they split their chapter in half, in to Pentekostys, each one had 4 companies and half of the veteran and scout companies as well. Each Pentekosty gave 1 company for either defending the homeworld or scanning the warp for any signs of their great hero, Herakles. The scouts wouldn't be used in this battle, there was no use for them. Aesclius was getting worried it had been over 2 hours and still no sign of either reinforcements. “Tuy how are the guard doing?” asked Aesclius “Surprisingly well Captain, they are keeping the demons at bay,” answered Tuy “Although I am getting reports of quite a few casualties sir,” “That'll be the sorcerers in the army,” answered Aesclius bluntly. He was happy with Jokof he had done well. “Sir, are scanners a picking up a ship from the warp, the scan is faint but there's something there for definite.” Tuy's voice sounded surprised “Our sensors should be able to detect our own ships, the Machine Spirits all know themselves,” Aesclius stated “Which means,” The Grey Knights were coming. “Tuy I want you ready to hail the ship,” “Yes sir,” Aesclius ran towards the launching pads, all of his men would be ready for combat, and ready to initiate launch, he ran as fast as he could until he reached his drop pod. But before he did get in. “Tuy were is the ship?” he asked “Sir, it's just about to exit warp space about now,” and right on cue a sliver battle cruiser appeared in space. “Patching you through now sir,” “Calling the most hoy Grey Knights of the Ordo Malleus, who am I speaking too?” “This is Brother Captain Stern, you requested aid,” a stern but secure voice came through. Aesclius couldn't believe his ears, he had request some Grey Knights but to have Brother Captain Stern, the most famous Grey Knight who was a great banisher of T'zeencth demons, had answered his call. “This is Captain Aesclius of the Sons of Herakles Astartes Chapter, we have a demonic infestation on the planet below, are you ready to assault?” asked Aesclius “What is the status of the planet?” “We have the Cadian 65th and the Javis PDF holding the capital against a horde of demons,” “Right, Captain launch your men into combat we shall follow you,” answered Stern “Very well, Aesclius out,” Aesclius clambered into his Drop Pod. “Tuy, get us down there!” “Re-leasing clamps,” and with that Aesclius was hurtling towards Javis ready to slay the foul demons, and save the Guard. Stern turned “Grey Knights, we have a demonic infestation on the planet below, I want every man on the teleports now!” Stern ran towards the teleport bay. “Sir, who are we fighting?” asked one of Sterns retinue “M'Kachen!” answered Stern “Very well,” Stern had met M'Kachen many times before, he was his most hated enemy, many times Stern had banished M'Kachen, he would do it again. “Galius, get the teleports up, we want a quick drop,” ordered Stern at the Grey Knight Techmarine. “Doing sir,” replied the Techmarine. Stern leapt onto the teleport station. He knew that the Sons were good at defeating demons, but not even they could destroy this amount of demons on their own. Stern wondered why the Sons hadn't started the fight on the planet, surly they would of helped the guard a lot more. But I didn't matter now the demons would taste his blade. He felt the coldness wrap around him, something tried to grab him with weird limbs, but his faith burned the demon, and then suddenly he was surrounded by demons, he was in the fight, then he saw it M'Kachen. Aesclius stormed out his drop pod, it was something he had practised all of his life. And then he saw it The Lord of Change. i wasn't sure on how teleportation worked so i guessed :P Athiair :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138649-no-title/page/2/#findComment-1636647 Share on other sites
Custodian Athiair
next part “M'Kachen” spat Stern “Again we meet Captain,” smiled the demon “I have banished you before I can do it again,” growled Stern “But how did you get back so quickly?” “You stupid mortals, you don't understand the warp in all it's majesty, for me it has been 10 years in your cumbersome calendar.” “Well pre-pare for another long stint, foul beast!” roared Stern as he unleashed a bolt of pure psychic energy. M'Kachen seemed to fade but then pulled himself back. “You disappoint me, Captain,” mocked the demon “Men, fire at will!” was his only reply. Racks of bolter rounds piled themselves into the bird like creature. Then a hail of pure silver bullets whipped passed Stern slamming into the demon. M'Kachen screamed. Stern smirked Brother Ignatius the squads weapon specialist pounded The most holy silver bolt rounds into M'Kachen with his Psycannon. Stern ran towards M'Kachen, sword held ready. Out of the corner of his eye, Stern saw the famous Nemesis Force Hammer held by Brother Dvorn, Dvorn was one of the most famous men of the Grey Knights his weapon is famed through out the Imperium for banishing demons, with skull splitting blows. Dvorn had once been part of the famous Alaric's squad, he had fought against demons of a different kind, he had fought the data demons that the Dark Mechanicus had made in their dark labs. Alaric was probably one of the luckiest Grey Knight ever to have existed, Stern was amazed that he hadn't been made a Brother Captain yet. Alaric had fought the T'zeencth demon of Ghargatuloth and defeated him by pronouncing the demons true name, killing it with shock that it's new master was a mortal. He had then defeated the Castigator on Chaeroneia all be it with the destruction of a STC. And most recently had survived a gladiator world of Khorne, by causing a planet wide riot. HE was something and to have a member of his squad in his was some what a lucky charm. Stern charged M'Kachen. His entire squad did, he had made a bitter rivalry with M'Kachen, he had banished the demon so many times before and every time M'Kachen had found a way to come back to fight Stern. Stern unleashed a psychic bolt through his blade, normally it would have killed even the toughest mortal, but demons were something a lot more powerful. “I am the Hammer, I am the Sword in His Hand, I am the Gauntlet about his Fist, I am the End!” Stern chanted the prayer as did his squad, then a huge ball of pure white flame erupted from Stern's mind engulfing M'Kachen. M'Kachen screamed in pain, Stern pushed home the advantage he leapt at M'Kachen's head, M'Kachen realised just in time to put up a psychic barrier, Stern and M'Kachen met face to face, Stern drived his blade towards the demons face. “For the Emperor I shall prevail!” Stern said through gritted teeth. He felt the barrier giving way. Suddenly out of no-where a spear hurtled towards the crystal below Stern, it embedded itself in. M'Kachen howled temporarily letting his shield slip, Stern drove his blade deep into M'Kachen's head, Stern quickly followed with unleashing a large amount of bolt shells into M'Kachen face. M'Kachen face blew up in a hail of bloody chunks. Some how M'Kachen fought on, although blind and faceless. Then Stern saw, a huge silver body flying out of the sky, Stern quickly jumped out of the way. Before Dvorn came crashing into M'Kachen, swinging his huge hammer down the neck of the demon. Such a powerful blow, would have blown a score of demons to smitherines. This blow instead literally blew open M'Kachen chest , in an explosion that shook the battlefield. Aesclius had thrown the spear giving Stern the edge. And had been slicing the heads of demons in half with his blade. And then he saw the huge silver terminator falling out of the sky. And he saw the Lord of Change blown apart, before the hold battlefield shook. Throwing everyone onto the floor. Aesclius picked himself up “Son's of Herakles” he spoke through the vox “Imperial Guard, Grey Knights, push forward for the Emperor and Herakles,Charge!” the battlefield shook with the thunderous sound of hundreds of men charging into the demons, and thousands of shells and lasgun shots. The glory of battle. The demons had been defeated. But demons didn't know fear or defeat, and that would be there downfall. The forces of the Imperium piled on them. hope you like it i'm a bit slow today so might only get one athair ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138649-no-title/page/2/#findComment-1637727 Share on other sites
Custodian Athiair
i have bad news this is the last part of the story i hope you like i am moving onto other things like sorting out my Halo based Imperial Guard army and writing another story (don't know what it will be about,) i hope you like it A few weeks later, once everyone had recovered their losses. They started to train the new PDF of the planet. The Grey Knights had already left by this time, they were needed at the Eye of Terror. But the Sons of Herakles stayed to help the PDF learn about how to hold the threat of demons at bay. And Colonel Jokof had officially told his Regiment about the death of Nemhad, but it had not shaken them, they had seen the work of demons first hand nothing surprised them any more. Not long after the battle the Pentekosty had arrived, they were all hyped for a fight. But they were too late, the battle had been won. But they stayed to help the new PDF, for now this planet had been cursed with the arrival of demons, Javis would always been in the eye of chaos. The training was going well, the Cadian 65th were drilling the Javis PDF hard, for they knew that the greatest asset of the Imperial Guard was their fire power, but it would go to waste if the accuracy was poor. So every day 3 hours was spent on firing drills. Soon the PDF were progressing very well, and officer's were starting to stand out in the PDF. Once the Ephor believed that the PDF was full prepared he ordered the evacuation of Javis by the Sons of Herakles. “Captain Aesclius please report to the command bridge,” a message relayed through the ships communication system. Aesclius swiftly marched towards the bridge wondering who wanted his presence. His cape fluttered behind him as he marched the command bridge. He soon reached the bridge. “Captain Aesclius reporting for duty,” spoke Aesclius as the marched in. “Good to see you Captain,” replied a stern but reassuring voice “Ephor?” Aesclius looked up, and then immediately bent his knee in respect. “I am honoured to be in your presence,” “Good to know Captain, no on to the reason why I called you here,” began the Ephor (he is one of the chapter masters for the Sons of Herakles), “You fought the great enemy, yes?” “Correct sir,” answered Aesclius “Well, first of all I have to commend you for successfully winning, but then comes the fact of how?” asked the Ephor “I couldn't have done it without the help of the Grey Knights, sir” answered Aesclius “I heard it was the Lord of Change M'Kachen,” Ephor stated “It was sir, and only 1 Grey Knight has ever defeated him,” answered Aesclius “Brother Captain Stern,” Ephor was amazed “He was here?” “Yes sir,” replied Aesclius “Emperor protect, but still I heard who defeated him before Stern arrived,” “Yes I did sir, but I don't believe that he was that strong at the time,” Aesclius replied modestly “I understand, right onto the main reason I called you here,” the Ephor sounded serious though Aesclius “Because of your Companies new knowledge of fighting demons,” “Is it the time of change?” asked Aesclius “Yes Captain,” the time of change was when the companies tasked with defending the planet and looking for any sign of Herakles came back from their duties and rejoined their Pentekosty. “I would like your Company to take on the search for Herakles,” “Yes sir,” answered Aesclius “Good, now I must be going we are needed at the Eye of Terror.” “Very well sir, may Herakles and Emperor protect,” Aesclius made the sign of the aquila across his chest and he marched away. Ho boarded his own ship later. And marched up to the command bridge. When he reached the bridge. “Tuy, relay this message out across the ship, we have been given the honour of searching for Herakles!” declared Aesclius “Sir? Would you like me to enter the warp?” asked Tuy “Affirmative, enter the Warp and find Herakles!”Aesclius felt the ship enter the Warp he would find Herakles. THE END please post i hate it went people don't post sorry :woot: Athiair ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138649-no-title/page/2/#findComment-1642287 Share on other sites
BlueWaterDragon
Hmm, only thing I can recommend is an edit for formatting as it's quite hard to read. But aside from that it looks rather cool.
