Kek
I need comments on how to improve my new nurgle DP but i've hit a wall with ideas any help? <_< http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/s...18/DSCF0386.jpg http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/s...18/DSCF0384.jpg http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/s...18/DSCF0381.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138719-nurgle-daemon-prince/ Share on other sites
Ganuus
Not sure. To me, it just doesn't say "demon prince". More of a giant mutant (which I suppose is what a DP is, lol). Maybe some wings? As a DP isn't complete without wings nowadays. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138719-nurgle-daemon-prince/#findComment-1601226 Share on other sites
Kek
:D good idea i'll have to find some wings. time to shop :D any more ideas guys and gulls i'm thinking of trying a bit of the old green stuff, but i ain't that good at sculpting Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138719-nurgle-daemon-prince/#findComment-1601279 Share on other sites
Apoc666
I like it, its original and effective, some wings would be great as would some really basic green stuffing of boils and pustules etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138719-nurgle-daemon-prince/#findComment-1601303 Share on other sites
PlagueBearer
Nice conversion but it just doens't look sci-fi...Add some futuristic details and it will look better...Like a Nurgle DP some kind of decay and tubing would do the work!!! lord_bunny
massive swollen belly, with tubes and guts hanging out dripping pus. not too hard to sculpt either. I love him so far, so cute ! Kek
drool ... i'll think about it tbh i agree wings are more to do with faster moving creatures, nurgle has always struck me as a ponderous kinda guy, still this leaves an area on the back that i don't know what to do with Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138719-nurgle-daemon-prince/#findComment-1601643 Share on other sites
Grumps
When i think Nurgle, i think bloated, puss, rotting, blisters, ozzing soars, tubes, plague spreading devices, death and decay. This guy says to me, brute strenght, scary, smash um up. I would ding up and damage the plate, maybe make it look like its bulging more, add a bunch of blisters and open soars, ozzy stuff, maybe a bloated stomach, and some tubes and device to spread the rotting plague that comes to mind when we think "Nurgle". Kek
did some GS last night what do you think thus far http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/shagster18/228.jpg http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/shagster18/229-1.jpg http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/shagster18/230.jpg and this poor unfortunate is going on the base :( http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/shagster18/233.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138719-nurgle-daemon-prince/#findComment-1602493 Share on other sites
Master_Aerethos
I think one of the biggest thing you could do to help would be to make it look more 40k. At this point, it mostly looks like a mutant cave troll IMHO. CSM armour would help immensely, methinks. Captin Xavier
Hey, great work so far I also agree with Master_Aerethos as it does just look like a troll, a great way to sort this out would be to give him a nice big technicaly advanced backpack. This will git it that 40k look, another good idea would be to add pipes here and there. Are you going to give him a ranged weapon? Great work Cpt X :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138719-nurgle-daemon-prince/#findComment-1602508 Share on other sites
Kek
Well as a DP he can't really have a ranged weapon as such but i'm giving him the nurgle rot psychic power. as for a back pack i was thinking of using a dreadnaught power plant with a bit of modifying. on this i'll proberly have some pipes connected from the plant to the body somehow. thanks for the ideas :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138719-nurgle-daemon-prince/#findComment-1602516 Share on other sites
Master_Aerethos
I think the one thing, concerning the futuristic look that would help most, would be to sculpt armour on the shins. You know, just some power armour. Shouldn't be too hard, especially since you seem to be competent at sculpting. Kek
well actually that was only my second attempt at sculpting but thanks :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138719-nurgle-daemon-prince/#findComment-1602527 Share on other sites
Master_Aerethos
ACtually, elongating the legs would help a lot, IMHO. Just the shins. Master_Aerethos Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138719-nurgle-daemon-prince/#findComment-1602532 Share on other sites
Kek
how would i go about doing that without too much damage to the model? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/138719-nurgle-daemon-prince/#findComment-1602568 Share on other sites
Azura
you know what would be cool that the guardsman would be eaten by a rotting maw and on the prince have his guts hanging out,his head being half eaten( like gothmog, lord of hte rings) P.S. is that the new mordor troll?? Master_Aerethos
The following is assuming you plan to sculpt armour on the shins. REally, all you need to do, is cut the shins at about the halfway point, use a pin-vice to drill holes in the tops & bottoms of the shins. Then, use some nice thick wire (like a hanger) to elongate the shins. Use putty to fill in. That's what I recommend, anwyays.
