right i've had a go at lengthening the legs but i'm not sure how much to extend by is this enough

it took me a while to get the wire in as the legs were hollow :( should have known that though as the model came in two halves

Sorry for taking so long to post a reply but work is catching up on me and my models have taken a back seat for a bit

i've started to add more detail to the model what do you think (the legs aren't finished though)

This thing is growing on me (like affection, not mould). I disliked it to begin with, but I'm beginning to see potential in the model.

Teching him up is all well and good, and a simple way to 40kify him, but bear in mind that Nurgle would have to be the least technology oriented of the 40k factions. Even tyranids do genetic engineering which is high technology in the real world at the moment.

I'm only going to throw ideas at you, you have to figure out the path to take, but what if he purposely spurns technology? What if he worships the aspect of Nurgle that revels in entropy (things falling apart, rusting, devolving)? What if you left him very un-techy but filled his base with rusted weaponry, rotted corpses and coiled razorwire?

Don't feel obliged to sculpt power armour on him. Not sayin' its a bad idea, just that there are options. Maybe even consider xenos tech?

Again the backpack looks cool, but what is it powering? There is only a rusty chest plate and some sharp (blunt) pieces of metal. Nothing like a power weapon or bionics or clanky robo-armour. Maybe save the backpack for another model.

He's got a lot of 3s going on (3 arms, 3 digits on each hand), maybe give him 3 eyes too? Make his eyes into a Nurgle symbol perhaps?

He doesn't need wings. His arms make him busy enough.

Another thing to think about is how to make him look commanderish. At the moment he's a big brute. Not the leader of a seasoned and deadly cadre of diseased warrior zealots. Try to make him look like he's either commanding, looking intelligent, pointing, or as is the way of maniacal daemon worshippers, making a gruesome example of an unfortunate enemy trooper.

Have fun.

My friend that is the sort of comments i've been looking for ;) you are an absolute genius. :D

I'm still thinking of sculpting the legs though maybe rotting power armour or something.

With the free hand i'm thinking of putting an unfortunate imperial guard in there as i have some spare parts i could use for him.

As for the base idea i'm liking it alot.

Right then back to the sculptors table.

Thanks :D

Well, the model itself is coming along, but it's not quite there yet. As far as teching him up, I agree that he doesn't have to be completely 40k-ified. But, he was a space marine once, after all. It should show in some places. Honestly, I think this can be fixed in three places:

1. His legs. Sculpt some greaves and he will look ace.

2. His shoulders. Nab a set of the Daemon Prince shoulderpads. Either that or sculpt your own. A defiler face mask also works well (especially one with the screaming face and the horns)

3. Surprisingly, his neck. If you ran some tubes and guitar wire up his neck from his chest and into his jawline, it would give a subtle hint as to him wearing power armor. In all, guitar wire fixes up everything if you place it correctly.

I was also thinking some power armor-esque bracers for his arms might do the trick too.

I'm looking forward to progress on this <_<

Cheers,

-Kal

EDIT: Also, while the intestine hanging out is a nice touch, you might want to make it look a bit thicker. It looks kinda flimsy, but that's just me B)

What I always do on my Nurgle things is add some coiled guitar string. Looks like metal tubes probing in the flesh and gives the feeling that they've been operated again and again. (Haven't got decent pics on that yet, otherwise I'd show them)
