wappellious
Here's something I had always wanted to try out... Grey Knights in something other than the usual colors, which I have some pictures of below: First, the new color scheme-- http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/Wappellious/GreyKnightONEMultiviewRESIZE-1.jpg And what I have normally been doing: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/Wappellious/BrotherCaptainSternMultiviewRESI-1.jpg

Master Toddius
Thats exactly the paint scheme I'm going to go for on my upcoming GK army. Not nearly as well painted as yours but I'm facinated with the deep red GK look. Makes them look firey and aggressive. Yours are as usual very well done and amazing. And I officially hate you. Great stuff as always brother. Thanks for continuing to post them. :fakenopic:
Nepenthe
I'm actually thinking of using the grey knight models (and rules) for Blood Ravens Ordo Psykana... haven't had the time to do a test mini, but I think the deep red would look "shweet" on those models... I doubt they'd look as gorgeous as yours, though! ;)

Algoroth
Amazing paint jobs. Very jealous of your painting skillsTutorial on the power/force weapon effects would be good Seconded. We needs must know more of the painting of the force/flaming weapons. Are the bases from scratch, or resin scenic?
wappellious
Thanks for all the kind words! The bases are made using a layer of cork with a thin layer of baked Sculpey clay on top. Once the sculpey has been baked, you can carve texture (such as marble tiles) into it. We have a host of bases that we have created using a variety of materials, but the marble tiles are my personal favorite. It allows you to create a whole theme for an army. Many people have joked that I cold play entire games of 40k using nothing but my bases, as I have a 'code' for each type of unit/character, etc ^_^
Capt. Kenaz
I like GK's in something than the usual grey/silver metal...I was thinking of a red and black scheme myself... with real metallics for just the guns and other metal parts. A quartered scheme would take while, but look cool and standout on some 'elite' models too. Great work, but, the all red GK in power armour needs just some other accent color to provide a contrast and make it pop, maybe a glowing type green color? or a real darkgrey with lighter grey highlights? Keep up the good work though!
Merkava
Can you do a tutorial for the swords?
wappellious
I will try and put something like that together as soon as possible. For the next few months, the painting schedule is pretty crazy! :tu: As far as the swords go, it is very similar to the way I do the marble on my bases. I start with a middle tone, perhaps a bit lighter. I then take a darker color and shade random areas darker by dragging the brush along the surface, rolling it as I go. This creates a nice random layout to the darkest areas, which now creates a texture which I can elaborate on wth my lighter colors. As I place the lighter colors, I work along one edge of the brightening color, which creates a nice sharp edge against thos deep dark colors. I will sometimes take the lightest colors and make very very thin 'lightning'- like lines through some of the really dark areas for eatrs effect. This is on the brader surfaces, so things don't get too busy. Hope this helps temporarily! ^_^

Captain Tezdal
That goldish-yellow coloured Grey Knight is one of the best painting's I've ever seen done on GK. If I ever started a DH army would def. steal that color scheme. Congrats :P
