Painting: Freehand Word Bearer's Symbol

Recommended Posts

Hi all fellow battle brothers!

I have a problem, I’m thinking in starting a word bearer army and I would like to paint their logo free hand on ex shoulder pads. But I don’t have any experience with freehanded logos. I have tried to use the search function on this webpage but failed to find anything useful. So do you know of a word bearer logo tutorial or something like wise that could help me?

thanks!

here's the basic way i did them

first do the flame part, basically a circle with flame coming from the top

for the skull

i started with a triangle for the upper part followed by a rectangle for the jaw

the horns were painted from tip to large end that joined up with the top of the skull.

i then painted the eyes, mouth and nose and neatened up the basic shape with yellow and then again neatened up any mistakes with black.

for a symbol like this it's basically a case of just working the small details until your happy.

hope this makes sence

cheers

James

Here is how I do WB logo:

gallery_25055_1634_688.jpg

1. Paint a circle

2. Do 2 straight lines down

3. Do 2 more straight lines to form the "chin"

4. Paint horns

5. Add little triangles below horns, one to each side

6. Paint the whole thing black, or any color you want

7. Do 2 white triangles to do the eyes

8. Paint the jaw with zig zag, and for the nose a little triangle.

Hope this helps.
