Land Raider Power!

just draw a line from each lascannon individually. if u can hit the target without going over ur own hull then u can shoot that lascannon. bear in mind that tanks are usually quite a large target so unless your facing side on you will likely always get both lascannons to fire. and if u ever fire at a squad of men then u can just aim at guys on the opposite ends of the squad.

The main rulebook diagrams show the sponson weapons being able to shoot from their maximum depression, regardless of going thru the hull, basically giving both sponsons a shadow immediately in front of and behind your tank with overlapping field of fire a foot or so away. I don't have the book on me to give you the page number tho. The picture was using a predator as an example.

2 things

1 has anyone noticed that with a crusader you can move 6" and then still shoot all of your weapons (excluding the multi-melta)

and 2nd what happens if only 1 of the twinlinked lascannons can see

what i mean if you have say the left twin-linked lascannon

and you try to shoot at something with it what happens if only of those lascannons can see the target and the other hits your hull (do you lose the twin-linked)?

thanks

You can actually shoot all of the weapons on a Crusader, thanks to Power of the Machine Spirit (which should probably be used on the twin-linked assault cannon, of course). What I'm interested in is whether this new Land Raider varient with the heavy flamer side sponsons will have a special exception to movement... seems counter-intuitive for an assault tank to be unable to move and fire, I think. Of course, I always thought the defensive weapons rule should apply to all non-heavy weapons as well as all heavy weapons strength 5 or less... the idea that a heavy bolter is not a "defensive weapon" for a vehicle seems kind of counter-intuitive, considering it's much less offensive than most primary vehicle mounted weapons. But I didn't write the rules, and I guess they had a reason for what they chose as "defensive" weapons.
