travh20
Title says it. When you summon a greater daemon, do you use the bloodthirster model? Is that legal? If so does he use the stat line and point cost listed in the CSM codex? Or is the bloodthirster just for the daemon army? Dammeron
This is one of the bloody stupidities thrown uo by GW's recent changes to the chaos army lists. In ALL earlier editions, Chaos Space MArines and God-specific daemons existed together in the same army list. Now, when you summon a generic Greater Daemon in a Chaos Space Marine army, it is a generic greater daemon, no matter what model you use, what weapons it is carrying, whether or not it has wings, etc. If you use the Bloodthirster model in a Daemon army lost, then it is a Bloodthirster with wings, armour and all the powers the damn model suggests. Tfcdogbert
Bad dammeron, *whacks with newspaper* keep that rant to the flogging thread :woot:. Yes its a Generic Greater if used in a chaos space marine army, and you use the appropriate points cost and rules from the codex. Arschbombe
Yes, the bloodthirster model counts as a generic greater demon. Yes, it's quite stupid. It's another sign that GW half-assed the Chaos release and gives some credence to the rumors that Chaos was only released when it was because the Orks weren't ready. It's apparent that Chaos wasn't really ready either. If you look at the US website the bloodthirster is now the only model listed under summoned demons. When the site first went up they also showed bloodletters there but they showed the old metal models whereas the chaos demons page showed the new plastics. If the generic demons was something they really wanted to do, I think they could have come up with some sort of undivided-looking demons to fit the bill. I've decided to use Malakor from the fantasy range, but that model is only available as a direct order. I'd like to see a mass protest with everyone taking a chaos army to a GT using a blob a greenstuff that says daemonicus genericus majoris on it. Plague Pie
Would have been nice to include a list of generic upgrades for the Greater Daemon. Hell, the Daemon Prince in C:CD has tons of upgrades, why not the GD in C:CM?
