Joah from Alberta
So what is it? Does the unit still gets lash movement if it goes to ground? As it states in 5th you can declare a unit go to ground during shooting effectively pinning it, lash states can't lash pinned units. Damn MTG for the stack-- hath popped so many a cherry. Cale
Going to ground will not stop the Lash of Submission, and there are two reasons why it will not. First, Lash of Submission is insufficient to trigger going to ground. According to the rules (page 24) "After the enemy has rolled to hit and wound against any of your units, but before you take any saves or remove any models, you can declare that the unit is going to ground." Since Lash of Submission does not cause any rolls to wound, go to ground is not an option, anyway. But, even were it an option, going to ground still does not prevent a unit from being Lashed. Note the effects of going to ground as described further down in that very same rules-box: Whilst it has gone to ground the unit may do nothing of its own volition, but will react normally if affected by enemy actions (for example it will take Morale tests as normal). Also note that failed Pinning tests now cause a unit to Go to Ground--there is no such state as "being pinned" anymore. This means that if you Lash a unit and it fails its pinning test, it will go to ground--but you will still be able to Lash it a second time, as having gone to ground does not prevent the Lash from functioning. Joah from Alberta
That's a very good answer (and not only because you're telling me what I want to hear). Thanks, Cheers, Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/140744-lash-and-go-to-ground/#findComment-1627177 Share on other sites
