Marauder Jetbikes for Black Widows Female Space Marines

Recommended Posts

Okay, I must say I'm very pleased at the way these are turning out. Here are the first two so far.

The engines, I believe, are from The Space Marine battle barge. I got them years ago back when you still could bitz order Battle Fleet Gothic...or bitz order at all for that matter. The legs are from the Slaaneshi Lord on Chaos Steed in Warhammer Fantasy, and are perfect for this project because not only are they in the sitting position, but they are armored in female proportions and wearing a kind of satyr/high heels, which is awesome.

To fit the slimmer legs better I'm using the armored female torso from the Dark Elf Warriors Boxed set rather than converting marine torsos, so that should please lot of people that have been asking for smaller bust sizes, and I'm experimenting with some mutations as you can tell from the Dryad head.

I'll be making a dozen of these, all in all.

As always, click on a thumbnail for a larger pic.

Enjoy.

very nice indeed! i especially like the use of the eldar parts at the front there, gives it that more streamline look.

do you plan on making the rest completely identical? or will they each be different or have differences about them?

Thanks. I took a little inspiration from Return of the Jedi. The hard part was getting twelve sets of that eldar turret shield armor.

They'll each have different details about them, but the basic design will be the same for each bike.

All of it looks awesome, except for the Dryad head, doesnt really seem to fit in IMO, but its your idea.

Keep up the great work.

Thanks. I think I'll try one out with a demonette head, to see how that looks, then just use the wood elf heads for the others.

Ok... I like them except for one thing... the lego frontal extension. Come on... I know you can do better then that ;)

My idea would be to get cheap Pic pens and remove the ends and cut them down to the length you'd use.

No way, man. Legos are the best for converting. They have better details then a pen would have, and once they're painted you'll never be able to tell. I've always used legos in my larger conversions. :)

Nice jet bikes. I always thought it was silly for Sammy to have 'The only one' especially with all the DIYs, WIPS, and OOPs out there.

And don't forget the biggest contradiction by GW...

Every single servo skull has an anti-grav engine in it...

:P

and when you think about it, a landspeeder is just a bigger 2 man version of a jet bike ;)

The imperium is HEAVILY against making new technology. I mean, most of the "new" vehicles are made from holo-plans discovered by archeologists.

So anything past making variants of existing vehicles (Predator Annihilator, Land raider Crusader/Redeemer/Promethius) is considered heresy, or offensive to the machine spirits, or something.

Samael's Jetbike is a relic of ages long past, and if I recall correctly, NOT the only one. Other first-founding chapters MIGHT have one. But the tech is so rare, only the Master of the Ravenwing is often seen using one.

And nice conversions, Doc!

nice conversions, Doc!

Thanks, bro. ;)

Not so much against it as largely unable to. The priests of the Mechanicus who sided with Horus, for example, are highly experimental with the combinations of sorcery and technology, which indicates that the Mechanicus dogma is not doctrinally opposed to experimentation, just pragmatically limited.

Until it is given a stamp of approval by the authorities. Then it is fine. :(

I find the LEGO parts overly bulky in this case, and think I may agree about the head being 'too mad' (hard to tell, it's a little small).

But otherwise, it looks quite neat. Though I keep imagining them crashing into trees on Endor.
