binary
decided that i'd finally try some sculpting since i've been in the hobby for a fare few years now...and that rather than dive straight in with a full sculpt i'd just remodel an existing GW one as a learning process. I thought that the one thing that would allow me to try and learn the most things would be to do an Inquisitor, so after trawling the GW website i found the perfect base model Dark elf Here's the start, after dremelling off the details, and repositioning her with a new bionic leg. http://www.pbase.com/mark_kilburn/image/100312216.jpg and a close up of the bionic leg http://www.pbase.com/mark_kilburn/image/100312237.jpg http://www.pbase.com/mark_kilburn/image/100312249.jpg After a few days work with some GS I got to this point. http://www.pbase.com/mark_kilburn/image/100312282.jpg http://www.pbase.com/mark_kilburn/image/100312308.jpg http://www.pbase.com/mark_kilburn/image/100312309.jpg http://www.pbase.com/mark_kilburn/image/100312404.jpg How does she look, and can anyone suggest anything that needs doing before i apply the paint? -binary Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/141286-another-inquisitor/ Share on other sites
Brother Plasticard
I really like it! That is some pretty good sculpting! How does she look, and can anyone suggest anything that needs doing before i apply the paint? Nothing really. Cheers! ++EDIT++ What colors will you be painting her? Kobrakei
It's shaping up to be a sweet model that's for sure, but the obvious point to me just even skimming the pictures is the ears. I think the hairstyle possibly doesn't help as it accentuates the pointyness. Not being a sculptor I could help with any advice with what to do, but hopefully I helped :) Kobrakei Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/141286-another-inquisitor/#findComment-1633050 Share on other sites
LucasLAD
add some small cuts in the purity seal paper. Maybe round out the right foot a little, kinda looks chunky. looks good so far.....I'd hit it with some wd40 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/141286-another-inquisitor/#findComment-1633053 Share on other sites
TheDarkApostle
Hmm, the actual wax-seals strikes to me as a litle big, but it might jsut be the scale of the model throwing me off, so while on that subject a scale photo would be nice if possible :) Let's see what more there is, the hair seems a tad to short IMHO, could have been a little longer. And finally there's something about the chest that looks off but I can't just put my finger on it. I can just say that she seems a bit inspired by the Inquisitor range Eisenhorn model no? :D Keep the good work up though :( TDA Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/141286-another-inquisitor/#findComment-1633100 Share on other sites
Mr. Nipples
Nice work dude. Love the leg. Maybe add some textures to the blocks on the base? i dunno what your going for but other then that its sweet. Paint it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/141286-another-inquisitor/#findComment-1633105 Share on other sites
wiplash
more inquisitorial reference although if your free hand is good you could paint that on and a sight on the gun like how klown does them but it is bloody brilliant Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/141286-another-inquisitor/#findComment-1633165 Share on other sites
BrianBlessed
Pointy ears aside this looks fantastic. I suppose when shes painted the ears won't be as prominent. They just stand out against the greenstuff. This is brilliant. Ardus
looks very much like a GS inqusitior by Pega from back some years. he used the same head and gun. you've done a great job on the conversion and your GS work is very good. the seals are a bit big for my tastes though imho. binary
There has been some progress with the inquisition...finished the paint on her, and managed to build a small warband. (Use it in our 40k scale inquisitor games...) thought i'd get some feedback finally :) Here we go.... WingsOfTheFalcon
Great work, I like the retinue more than the inquisitor but it's a great conversion none-the-less! Good to see someone being really creative with different models in the GW range, keep it up! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/141286-another-inquisitor/#findComment-1781943 Share on other sites
Skull_Lord
Amazing work, they have a lot of character, but i think the Inquistior would look even better with black hair (but thats just my opinion). Master Toddius
At first I thought the =][= looked like a Romulan Female Warrior, but the paint job has done her justice. Very Gothic and sexy. The Bionic leg is superb. Out of all of them, though, the servitor is my favorite. Very inventive converion there. Good Job so far ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/141286-another-inquisitor/#findComment-1782051 Share on other sites

And just to complete the Star Wars nerdery: Kirtan Loor was Corran Horns Imperial Liason back when he was still with CorSec. Ended up working for Issard during her hunt for Rogue squadron and the fall of Coruscant. After the fall he ran the Imperial covert ops team that worked to undemine the Republics efforts to bring the Krytos virus under control. Was killed by an assassins bullet meant for someone else during Tycho Celchus trial for the murder of Corran Horn. On Topic: Love the warband, Inquisitor has that sexy, strict "school-marm" look about her.
