What up my 2 year old thread, posting updated army shots. Lots of new stuff and the stuff you've seen has been touched up in some places and everything has been based.

Got a Land Raider Crusader with 1 and 1/2 coats of blue in the works at the moment, and 5 assault terminators waiting for me to get my grubby mits on some FW Ultramarine terminator shoulder pads so I can magnetize for both weapon sets.

Pretty proud of my first attempt at a real freehand design on the banner on the standard bearer, copied from the codex or index astartes, I forget which.

You've seen one of these guys but he's got a couple of buddies now.

Another squad of scouts, this time with CC weapons as I felt the bolters were somewhat lacking on the tabletop. Obligatory Geordi squad leader.

Can you ever have enough tactical marines? This is 2 battleforce and 1 Tac squad box of marines, you can probably tell the squad made from the 2 combat squads you get, used an IG flamer and missile launcher for the spec/heavy weapons in this squad.

More assault marines, again for tabletop reasons 10 assault marines will wipe the floor with basically anything. Sternguard has been fleshed out with some Tyrannic War vets.

Dread has had a slight repaint, probably one of the weaker models as it's an early one, Rhinos also have had a makeover which makes them look much better.

And here's my poor attempt at getting everything to fit in a single photo, doesn't really work though.

The LRC is fully magnetized so I can swap to a redeemer whenever.

The reason I've not really posted many updates is because I've sorta lost heart with the Ultras, my painting skill has outgrown the harsh highlights that define this army which means I have to paint down to my old level to retain coherance. However I decided to get everything out for some new shots as I'm probably gonna start painting up what I have left over because a fully painted and based army is beautiful even is it's not to the highest standards I can do.

Really need to get down to my uni work, but I wanted to do some painting so I bought one biker and raided the bits box for the first part of my biker force, the Captain with Relic Blade. Also a chance to bump my thread and keep it from going years without updates.

The biker captain did stellar in my first game using him, lost the first turn and took two wounds, spent the next two turns hiding behind buildings until the enemy came into assault range, then killed a squad of wraithguard on the charge, recieves a charge from some banshees and survived for 2 turns until backup arrived. Now I want the Ravenwing set now so I can get some biker squads out there.

Next up on the paint table however was my LRC, which is now complete! (except a few choice Ultra U's somewhere I haven't decided yet.)

Decided it was probably best I post some actual WIP stuff instead of just completed models. I've got a biker force underway at the moment, shown here missing 2 attack bikes and 3 regular bikes that are stewing in bleach and break fluid and god knows what in an effort to get them paint free.

the break fluid will ruin and destroy your bikes if they are plastic

your army is very good looking and very big, gratulations!

Good to know, I'm testing it out on an old marine that I don't care about first but I'm getting fed up with waiting so I thought I'd test it out.

Your army is great, good paintjob,

I've never heard of brake fluid being used to clean paint off of a model before but I would recommend acetone free nail varnish remover, peels the paint off very quickly and with an old toothbrush you can get a clean mini in minutes. Although it seems to depend on what brand of remover you use, where abouts do you live in the world if I may ask?

I'm in the UK.

Edit: The test marine I had in brake fluid was in there for 3 or 4 hours and the paint peeled of just nice from running it under the tap, the plastic underneath seems to be mostly unchanged.
