Deep within the Fang, warriors of legend slumber; waiting for battle while dreaming of fighting along side with the Wolf King.. Leman Russ primarch of the Space Wolves at the Wolf-Time. One of these great warrior's is the first Great Wolf himself, BJORN THE FELL-HANDED. These ancient and mighty warriors (old one's) have defended Fenris and the Fang countless of times. They have fought on countless worlds, along side Wolf Lords and Great Wolfs over the centuries; and will continue fighting because even in death they still serve! for RUSS and for the Wolf-Time!!

Wolf Brothers of the FANG here at Bolter and Chainsword, post pictures of your BJORN THE FELL-HANDED Dreadnought, your Space Wolf Venerable Dreadnought, and your normal Space Wolf Dreadnought. It is time for us to honour these warriors here at the FANG!! for these old ones deserve such glory and praise whom fight along each and everyone of our great companies. For future Space Wolf Dreadnough models to come! and for a hopeful new Venerable Dreadnought, BJORN THE FELL-HANDED model in the future Space Wolves codex!!!

My Bjorn needs a new paintjob first. But here´re my other ancients.

Who says that a venerable dreadnought can´t have a retinue? :o

This is Grantyr "Ironhide" Greymantle - Wolf Lord of the Redeemed Wolves Great Company. He suffered mortal wounds defending the home and family of an Adeptus Mechanicus forgemaster and was rewarded with this special edition dreadnought body.

I'm actually going to convert my black reach dread into a Bjorn if the model stays the same in the upcoming SW codex.

Now just to work in a LOT of green stuff :P

dark B. really liking the dreads, and I love the retinue Idea, that'd be sweet ^_^

Some of you guys probably checked my Bjorn out in the Frost Claws thread but here he comes again.

As said over there, bought him second hand, and the dumb kid before me had clipped his tails and banner off, probably wanted him as a "regular" Dreadnought or something, pisses me off :)

But I made a pretty neat and fast conversion from a Chaos Marauder banner's horse head.

And yeah, that's Leman Russ himself on Bjorn's right shoulder. His kneepads depict a Bear and a Wolf (Bjorn = Björn = Bear in swedish)

Do I get the Dreadnought Banner Award? xD

I free-handed the banner, but Human-Bjorn was designed after the original banner from the Space Wolf 2nd edition codex!

http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/6259/bjornut4.jpg

Here's a close-up pic of Bjorn's banner! Was damn fun to draw, took time too. First there's a pic of Bjorn in Life (design taken from hte original pic of his banner) and then in death. "Serve in Death, Serve in Life!" oh yeah!

I've got a plastic Dreadnought aswell, named Tyr, but he's not done yet. Alot of forced-conversion on him aswell due to second-hand-stupid-kid-ness.

I really like the expression on his face, he looks pissed.

Job well done on the freehand, I see one of his lightning claws on there too, very nice.

The runes around the pictures are very nice too. :P

@ Beef

I really like your painting technique on that "older" dreadnaught, like space wolf camo. :D

It's been months since I've worked on my army, been really busy outside the hobby. I didn't even realize how much time has passed. So I finally started working on my Space Wolves army again :)

http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r35/Azn_MaveriK/WarWolves%20WIP/DSC02778.jpghttp://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r35/Azn_MaveriK/WarWolves%20WIP/DSC02784.jpg

I am gonna try to think outside of the box on this project and make that old Space Crusade Dreadnought into a Ironclad! who says they have to be bulky and heavy looking?! I'm gonna try to pull an anime style and make it slim, agile but a dangerous heavy hitter for my Space Wolves army! similar to a Macross Plus Mech, they are still a working progress.

Found inspiration from http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=129860

I'm gonna try to pull something similar just using Ironclad weapons ;)

just a tiny update on what I've been working on...

Realizing that I never really had a long ranged Dread, I decided to make one. I plan to add more wolfy goodness (pelts, fur) into this badboy. Most of my War Wolves (lost Space Wolf chapter) are being remodeled and repainted. I am looking forward on painting them, I am just waiting on more bits to come my way. for RUSS!! :P

What does that chaos monstrosity represent?

for the enemies of Russ, it represents the mighty 'long' fangs of the wolf

I c you suffer from a similar Dreadnought affliction.

Nice OTT Longe range dreadnought!

Thank you, aye I realize it is over the top, I wanted to think outside the box.. so I've gathered influence from my love of Anime/Manga and looked into Mech Warrior, Heavy Gear and some nice Macross Mechs. Its a reason why I have the other two Space Crusade Dreadnoughts, I wanted to distance myself from the average dread and try something different. I wanted something menacing looking, for the long range dread. The standard Lascannon and Missile Launcher on dreads felt to bland for my army, I needed something that can represent my armies fluff so I went with it.

Mav,

Very OTT Dreadnaught, I am digging it...it is dug. msn-wink.gif

Where'd you pick up the large claws on the other dread?

Thank you Wolf Brother! I'm glad you like... wait until you see what else I have in my entire army! but I WONT post them until I am finished painting, then I can write my fluff along with them. Aye, the large claws are from older dozer blades :P

My Bjorn needs a new paintjob first. But here´re my other ancients.

Chaplain Dread

At least the chaplain dread is avialble from FW. It would be some work to make a nice Wolf Priest dread our of him, but it would be possible. I have seen some tech marine dreads but the projects had been poorly converted (servoarms too small,...)

Heres one I did for U.K. Golden Demons afew years back !

Damn Vincenti, that is one hell of a nice looking Bjeorn! I believe you've earned Best of Show for this thread.

Well done,
