Yukka
On reading the rules for using vehicles and due to some confusing rule usage in a game I played pre-5th I would like to check the rules for assaulting vehicles. In the Chaos Codex it says that Land Raiders are "Assault Vehicles" and that models disembarking from a Land Raider may assault in the same turn. These arent mentioned in the BBB (i cannot find them anyway) Troops can disembark from a vehicle that moves up to 12 (12-18 is flat out and troops cannot disembark from a vehicle going that speed). Does this mean that a Land Raider can move 6 or 12 then disembark its troops who can move 6 then assault 6 or does it mean the Land Raider can move 6 or 12 then its troops can assault 6 out of the doors? I am assuming they can assault after the Land Raider moves 12, otherwise there would not be an advantage to using a vehicle anyway. You could get out of a Rhino during the movement phase (if it has not moved) then move 6 and assault 6. Might have answered my own question.. Gaz1858
I think its 12" LR move, then 2" disemabark in movement phase, then 6" assault As for rhino your bang on! Cyber_Wulf
i agree with gaz up above. all the assault vehicle rule means is that anyone getting out can charge on that turn as they just come running out at the front of the tank into anything that waiting for them. on a side note. the SM FAQ on thwe workshop website now registers that ALL land raiders have the assault ramps now ;) looks like GW finally got round to fixing stuff that NEEDS fixing Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/141937-assault-vehicles/#findComment-1641299 Share on other sites

Ado
I'm a bit of a nebie when it comes to playing 40k so please bre patient. I play BT so can my termies assault from my LRC or not??? It's not stated in the codex so rule lawyers might have a thing or two to say but surely common sense says they can!! nighthawks
technically, no - at least not until the FAQ for C:BT is updated to include the "assault vehicle" rule (as found in FAQs for C:DH GKLR/C and C:SM, C:DA, C:BA, C:CSM) but everyone "knows" that this is how they work, so in a friendly game, have at it. most people aren't going to rules lawyer that unless it's a tourney, at which the judges would rule one way or the other, I guess. InquisitorPhred
While I won't argue that a truely strict approach would say no you can't, Codex:BT does list the LRC as being equipped with a 'assault ramp' which is pretty heavily in your favor.
