vahouth
Those marines are GREAT!!! One question though: Are your reds a little pinkish or is it my monitor? Midas
Make the cloth dark green, I'm talking darker than dark angels green. Cool idea oblivion glass weapons in 40k. taLLis
hey guys cheers for the kind words  poisonfrog: cheers mate! i'm really happy with the way it worked out too, theres enough going on, but it's not in your face. vahouth : The pictures throws the colours off slightly but i still agree with you about the pink, i am highlighting the seals etc but maybe a red ink over the top would even it out a bit? Midas: Nothing is darker than dark angels green! :) , it took me a while to get the green right tbh, originally it was a lot lighter and had highlights in goblin green but it was way to vibrant. I think it does still need a wash , maybe black or green? Inquisitor_Lensoven
My 2nd Veteran, I must admit i have never done any conversions at all before so changing this guys arms about a bit was my first real attempt, even though its only a small change. http://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k420/ddsmith1_photos/P300708_1920.jpg http://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k420/ddsmith1_photos/P300708_1918.jpg http://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k420/ddsmith1_photos/P300708_1919.jpg I think i got quite a powerful commanding pose. The base will be changed and will be slightly higher which is why he is looking down. Plus, does anyone know of a good guide to doing squad markings, insignias etc? idk why, but for some reason, his pose makes me wanna start singing 'macho macho man, i wanna be a macho man' Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/142276-diy-chapter-shining-phantoms/page/2/#findComment-1655099 Share on other sites
taLLis
Just a quick update! Was struggling with my basing ideas and i must admit i am not very good at basing anyway! but i came up with the example below and am pleased with the way it came out, it's the surface of their home world, the chapters power weapons are fashioned from the green rock shown here which is on and under the planets surface. Tell me what you think! any suggests on improving it are more than welcome. http://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k420/ddsmith1_photos/P060808_1928.jpghttp://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k420/ddsmith1_photos/P060808_192801.jpghttp://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k420/ddsmith1_photos/P060808_192802.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/142276-diy-chapter-shining-phantoms/page/2/#findComment-1655104 Share on other sites
Midas
That is some kind of awsome. You could also put some lava on some, thus the glass. taLLis
Hello there! been really busy with work this last week, but my first squad are nearly done! I am still unsure on my chapter symbol so any ideas would be great! Criticism welcome as always!!! http://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k420/ddsmith1_photos/P120808_1854.jpg http://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k420/ddsmith1_photos/P120808_1855.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/142276-diy-chapter-shining-phantoms/page/2/#findComment-1661501 Share on other sites

CarbonBased
For a chapter symbol do a green diamond. I think that would work well with your colors. Jethsye
I like the colour scheme, just a little worried with the powerfist. Blends in with all the white, my the chapter symbol will change this though. For the symbol how about a lightining bolt. I mean if they all us glass from there planet, the way most galss was orginally formed was by lightning strikes. taLLis
Just had an idea for my assault sgt so quickly made this guy up as a test. I don't have any jump packs yet but you can get the idea. What do you think? My first opinion was that he looked quite feral but i was more going for grizzled vet. I think the beard is slightly too bright too, so will make it slightly more grey Please share your opinions! http://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k420/ddsmith1_photos/P250808_233802.jpghttp://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k420/ddsmith1_photos/P250808_2338.jpghttp://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k420/ddsmith1_photos/P250808_233801.jpg http://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k420/ddsmith1_photos/P260808_165301.jpghttp://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k420/ddsmith1_photos/P260808_1653.jpghttp://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k420/ddsmith1_photos/P260808_165302.jpg - taLLis Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/142276-diy-chapter-shining-phantoms/page/2/#findComment-1671881 Share on other sites
taLLis
Had a little dig about and came up with some very WIP ideas for the shoulder pad design which i will later make a mold of. The skulls have not been stuck or filed properly yet but you can get the idea! At the moment i am leaning towards the far right due to the longer forehead and less 'chaosy' look, plus the whole thing seems to blend a little better. Any opinions would be appreciated. Also any tips in terms of making molds would be to! http://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k420/ddsmith1_photos/P290808_1238.jpg - taLLis Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/142276-diy-chapter-shining-phantoms/page/2/#findComment-1675573 Share on other sites
