but as part of the official fluff from GW says the alpha legion have already infiltraited a planet before they attack so cordinating your assault with the troops you alredy have hiddin on the planet, and using them to tunnel in under the enemy would be perfectly within the realms of the OFFICIAL fluff for thr legion

see same thing again it can happen . of course they would have to get the drills to tha planet and then back or assault a planet that just happens to have such drillers [and when they get stolen no one reacts] . and then the same thing would have to happen on each and every planet they attack . very unlikely . am not saying that wouldnt [for example : assault on and ad mech station with very strong void shields , time is short , so they use drillers to get around them ] . I just dont see them doing it more then once . I mean how would they use that against nids or necrons or tau or eldar etc etc and what about times when chaos is the defender , drop pod reinforcments coming off planet can be explained , but drillers ?

Sorry, may have misinterpreted myself slightly here... I intended to make the point that should a player, (and i mean anyplayer) want to say they are using drills or whatever to represent the fluff they have chosen for their army, then why shouldnt they... Theres no reason why it wouldnt work, Its really no different to cultist/daemons.

what about using drop ships to get the drillers planet side?. if there is alot of anti aircraft fire id rather be under the dirt than getting blown out of the sky.

 

alpha legion..... deffending? na everything goes according to OUR plans mate :cuss . if a alpha legion comander is caught unawares he deserves to have his drillers taken away.

What I ended up doing for my AL force is converting some cultists and doing 'counts as' for lesser demons. It really works for thinking of some hidden insurgents in the enemy lines, that wait for a signal to come out and attack.

 

As for infiltrators, they totally messed with us and took away a full infiltrating army. But my plan is to paint up some Imperial SM models in some chapter colors and iconography, and play them using Chosen infiltrators. I figure deploy them close to the enemy, or use outflank, and represent them as some of AL marines painted up in my enemies armor, and suddenly turning on them at a key point in the battle. Very AL'ish. :P

 

I am a bit curious to see if there is anything in the new SM codex for me, using my existing models. Who knows.
