tagsta
hey guys I just found time to take a pic of my 2000+ pointish Marines Malevolent Force also wrote a little fluff. Please don't be too harsh with my untalented writing skills haha  what I changed for the 5th edition: - changed squad sizes to either 5 or 10 man - changed my command squad to Sternguard Vets (close up pics as soon as more squad members are finished) what I planned for the future: - all squads will be extended to 10 man - Masters of the Chapter, Chapter Master with Honor Guard and Command Land Raider (50% done yet) - a Terminator Squad - another Tactical Squad - 3 more Rhinos Picture shows Marines Malevolent Strikeforce operating on Artesia Prime Commanded by 5th Company Captain Tauran Demos http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68/Tagsta/Warhammer40k/Marines%20Malevolent/0army.jpg 5th Company Elements 5th Company Commander Demos Apothecary 2 Librarians 1x Tactical Squad 2x Tactical Demi Squad 1x Assault Squad (4Squad Members seconded to operate Land Speeders) 1x Devastator Squad 1x MKIV Siege Dreadnought 1x MkIIc Rhino APC with improved Communications 2x MkIV Razorback APC 1st Company Support 1x Sternguard Demi Squad 10th Company Support 1x Scout Recon Squad (setting beacons for Whirlwind Platforms) 1x Scout Sniper Squad Armoury 2x Land Speeder Tornado (operated by 5th Company Assault Squad Members) 2x Lucius Pattern Vindicator Siege Tank 2x Helios Pattern Whirlwind Platform (remote controlled) My Dear Inquisitor Lord, here is the report about the incident in the Adeptus Mechanicus Research Station located on Sector 52 on Artesia Prime you requested. My intelligence agent uncovered the role of the Marines Malevolent Adeptus Astartes Chapter and Ordos Xenos Inquisitor Rouven Malay during the Liberation of Artesia. The Liberation Forces under Imperial Guard High Command were promised support by the Marines Malevolent Astartes Chapter during the Rebellion on Artesia Prime. The Marines Malevolent were supposed to take down the four heavily fortified Arbites Outposts occupied by the rebels before the main Imperial Forces would make planetfall. The Astartes surgical strike should minimize casualties of the Imperial Forces and enable the Imperial Guard Armoured columns to securely enter the main roads to the Hive and wipe out the enemy resistance. Phase I Without communication to the rest of the fleet Strike Cruiser Fist of Golgotha quickly engadges Artesia’s Orbit and launches several small objects later on identified as drop pods. Phase II Planetary Defence forces report artillery bombardment in loyalist controlled Sector 52 located in the outer rims of the hive. A small intervention force is send out to investigate the incident. PDF forces report a large number of destroyed civilian buildings. Tremendous civilian casualties are reported. The intervention force is faced by Heavy Bolter fire from the ruins close to the source of the bombardment The contact to the PDF forces breaks down shortly afterwards. Wounds inflicted on the corpses of the guardsmen were later identified as characteristical damage caused by the special ammuntion type, commonly used by Astartes Sternguard Veterans. Phase III The Astartes Strike Vessel lauches Thunderhawk Transporter dropships. Liberation Forces headquarters still can’t establish communication with the Space Marines. Phase IV The Fist of Golgotha enters lower orbit and begins orbital bombardment on the rebel outposts. Phase V The Astartes dropships don’t engage the rebel outposts and make planetfall on Sector 52 instead. Heavy fighting in the ruins that were destroyed by the artillery barrage is reported later. Eye witnesses from the refugees located in Sector 52 report fire and explosions within the Adeptus Mechanicus Research Area. A convoy of Astartes tanks is sighted close to the Research Station. Vanguard Vindicator Tanks leading the column II. Main Troop Convoy Rhino with modified Communication array (unidentified pattern) Razorback APCs supported by Dreadnought with Siege Weaponry III. Demi Squads advancing through buildings supported by Assault Squad IV. Rearguard Tornado Land Speeder ready to intercept/engage Shortly afterwards the barrage from the Astartes Strike Cruiser ceases and the Astartes dropships return to their main vessel. The Fist of Golgotha leaves the sub-system immediately afterwards. Visible damage by Melta bombs and assault drills was reported on the structure. The Administation of the Adeptus Mechanicus Station still can’t be contacted so there is no official statement at this moment. All I know is that the casualties that the civilians and the PDF forces took are tremendous. Figure 3 Pict taken by intelligence officer (killed in action) http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68/Tagsta/Warhammer40k/Marines%20Malevolent/4pic.jpg A Squad of Marines Malevolent with their APC transport, Inquisitor Rouven Malay, and an Adeptus Mechanicus Member believed to be Magos Biologis Kaleb. Note the Sergeant’s Shoulderpad with the Inquisitoral Symbol. I have to oversee the deployment of the Liberation Forces and can’t deal with those matters at the moment but I have serious concerns that the Marines Malevolent and the Ordo Xenos Inquisitor are somehow involved in the incidents. Please forward my report to the agents of the Ordo Hereticus for further investigation. Your Servant Thias Aggripan Artesia Prime Liberation Forces High Command hope you guys like it ;) -tagsta /edit here is another pic from the convoy taken from my arvus lighter :whistling: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68/Tagsta/Warhammer40k/Marines%20Malevolent/1aconvoy.jpg

solid snake drive
What I meant was, did you take the shots with the special effects of the new mac computer? cause the first surveillence pic is really similar to one of the cool effects you could overlay on a picture. Sorry if it wasn't clear.

Honda
I just love your Helios AA platforms. I'm looking into those for an Apoc game and I wasn't really sure what to do for the base. I really like the simple lines of your bases. Thank you for that inspiration. BTW, love your army. I know you've been told this a million times before, and it is true for "yellow" armies, but you have really pulled off something special. It is an army to be very proud of. Cheers,
Draakur
Extremely cool, great to see someone do a more obscure chapter to such a high standard :D The report and fluff is a very nice touch too. Be proud :)
NemFX
So.. I'm a little sketchy on this.. They are good guys right? Might just be how I'm reading it, but it came off with them sounding like bad guys. Another small critique is that loyalist messages tend to be very prim and proper, without opinions, except with a note or two at the very end. But that's just what I've seen in official fluff. I like your army very much though.
Kushan Blackrazor
Marines Malevolent had some rather shady fluff in the Armageddon codex as I recall. They seem like the sort that "The Ends Justify the Means" but I could be wrong about that! Otherwise....GORGEOUS army! And such a distinct yellow from Imperial Fists...its a joy to see... Chaplain Desmodus
Always impressive when you see a picture of a big army, especially impressive when it's well painted - and yellow. ;) Great job so far, makes me want to bring out my own MM again (if only yellow wasn't such a pain to paint, oh well).
