Tarrant
Only vehicles classified as Tanks can ram, iirc. T. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/142415-dreadnoughts-and-ramming/#findComment-1647553 Share on other sites
bystrom
Ramming is a special rule for Tanks, for how Walkers react to a Ram, see page 73, 5th edition rule book under Ramming a Walker. Yukka
I didnt agree but now I do. All the terminolgy of the ramming description talks about tanks hitting vehicles. it never mentions a vehicle doing the hitting. Onisuzume
Yet among the bonuses it lists a seperate entry for if the vehicle is a tank. Which would suggest that non-tank vehicles could ram as well. In any case: a ramming dreadnought wouldn't be doing much damage, with its capacity limited to an S5 hit... Leonaides
To be able to ram, you must be able to 'tank shock'. To be able to tank shock, you must be a 'tank'. However, you do not have to ram things that are also tanks, hence the bonus to strength if you are a tank. remember, both sides take a hit (claculated separately) in any ramming action. bystrom
Yep, only a Tank can initiate Tank Shock or Ram; Then, each of the vehicle types has a separeate entry, listing their unique rules and any exceptions to the normal vehicles rules (...) Tanks follow the normal rules for vehicles, with the additions and exceptions given below. Under the Tanks heading, there are Tank Shock! along with Ramming, and as Leonaides said, Ramming is a special type of tank shock move.
