I agree, If you don't want to post your drop pods or even reas this thread... then why bother opening it? the title says exactly what its about, and the OP didn't post any pics so its not a 'this is my X, post yours' thread, to me it looks like a research thread where the OP is trying to gather pics of something he/she wants to work on in one place... a perfectly reasonable thing to do...

Anyhew, to the OP, I don't have any made up yet, im planning on starting some probally after I finish the DOW buildings, and before I finish the 40K warhound titan...

I think the 'Show Your' threads should at least be gathered up.. and the links compiled into a sticky thread.. so that users looking for reference can easily look up a database.

Aaaanyway..

A few months ago.. I tried out the famous frenchdrop pod template, and didn't like it at all.

So, using a few design tools.. I drew up a template designed for ease of construction.. whilst having the recognisable shape and details of a pod.

I never got my own one finished.. I couldn't get my hands on a decent thickness of cardboard for teh detail pieces. Rest assured.. the design has the details for the side plates as well as the wings. I just didn't get round to gluing them on.

I'm pretty sure you could easily produce one of these in a day.

If there's a demand for it.. I'll see what I can do about getting the plans released for the B+C

I agree with this: "I think the 'Show Your' threads should at least be gathered up.. and the links compiled into a sticky thread.. so that users looking for reference can easily look up a database."

and stick by my original comment. THere can be three of these up at once chugging things off the forum faster than they ought, to me it has the same result as 'spam' (but without the harse conotations) I agree its research gathering, but also think that the search function should be used.

Agree with it or don't.

Personally I like the Post your... threads. There a great way to show off your work and for people who lack a bit of imagination (like me)or who haven't got the time to dream up cool ideas it's a great way to get some hints form other peoples work. If you don't like them don't read them - simple!!

Loving some of the scratch built drop pods - I'm holding out for the new plastic kit - FW one a bit prciey for me!!

Not to disagree with you too much, while I also dont approve of multipul post yours threads a lot of them dont actually cover teh same aspects, and some cover more specific aspects, so this isn't actually all that easy to define... I guess we will have to trust in teh forum mods to shut down multipul topics...

I can understand why people don't like these sort of topics, as the common trend was getting rediculous with various posts involving easy to find and often posted things. Drop pods are neither, how many times have you seen a drop-pod thread on here? A purpose of this thread is to gather all those pictures up, and hopefully encourage people who wouldn't normally post such a thing to do so. Searching is an option, but actually finding a picture of a drop-pod in all those querries in a sane amount of time is very hard to do. Besides: the hall of honor is a place to show off your works and view other's, which I'm fairly certain this type of thread makes the latter a lot easier if you have something in mind. I agree wholeheartedly with the stickying of a "show your" database, but at the moment such a thing doesn't exist.

I would love to share my drop-pod, but it in it's current state it is only three sides and a stabilizer fin, the whole things been a pain in the arse, so I'm looking for some other good looking diy options. Not trying to sound hostile or offend, just trying to make a point. :P

Back on topic: those are some amazing diy pods Pyriel!

Here is my old DIY pod:

During a rainy day batteling Orks:

During a terrible day, fighting Chaos while a wayward Orbital Strike explodes in the background:

I like you, you talk sense. I may have over-reacted somewhat, and picked the wrong 'post your' thread. I'll stand by my opinion, but will incorporate yours by saying:

These threads keep getting eventually 'lost' which is a shame as they do provide a large output of raw data and pictures for people looking for examples of a certain thing, so yes, Mods please collate them !

I definitely agree with that. ;)

On topic:

Whoah, that is an amazing scratchbuilt Mortarion :eek . The amazing weathering with the whole build is just sweet! Makes me want to actually continue work on my drop-pod.

@Chaptermaster Greymantle: I just realized that's a scratchbuild, I thought it was forgeworld for the longest time ;)
