HB ASS cannon on a LS... can they still work well?

Okay, now that the HB is no longer defensive i can only move up to 6in. with my land speeder and still use both. Is that correct?

 

If so, does anybody think that takign that combo is still worth it?

and it is worth it, but not as much as it was. the limited range of the AC makes the vehicle a target to a lot of return fire, while the HB is not particularly powerful. the MM/HF combo does benefit to some degree as the dual roles mean that you may go tank hunting OR unit burning. it's nice to be able to use both weapons, but these two are VERY good at those two distinct rules, where the AC/HB was a good anti-infantry / anti-tank compromise vehicle, and could be very effective with lucky dice.

 

might we now see the typhoon more often? maybe. brings up another question, though: how does one twin-link a blast weapon under 5th rules?

The rules say you still get a reroll if you miss, so I assume that means if the blast scatters and dosn't hit anything you can reroll the scatter.

you re-roll the scatter, but twin-linked template weapons re-roll wounds....is this flamer only or any template (ie blast)

Blast and template weapons are diffrent. Template weapons use the flamer template while blast weapons use the large or small blast markers.
