I went for the second style, but to make him stand out a bit more i decided that a good apothecary would never leave the office without his trusty med servo-skulls ;) .

Gillyfish: I would love to see those terminators. I tought about making at least Belial robed, but my skills with green stuff are definitly not up to the task.

These look fantastic! I really like the apothecary, the white arm is just enough to make him stand out without taking away from the rest of the force. Well done! The standard bearer- what sprue/box has that great big banner in it? Silly question maybe, but I can't seem to find it. I was thinking that one of the grey knight terminator stormbolter arms might work really well for this too- just convert out the shoulder pad to the crux. Thanks!

It could work, but you would have to convert a right hand power fist holding the banner (or a chainfist), so that his wargear would be visible. Or you could give the banner to a thunder hammer/storm shield marine, have him hold the banner with one hand and the respective weapon (hammer or shield) carried by a watcher in the dark.

...mmm, that could work nicely. Talking of watchers, i still have a box of night goblins waiting to be converted in a army of robed wound/turn/objective/wargear markers :devil:

Wow, thats a long time...

I am expanding this post from just my Deathwing to include also Ravenwing and Greenwing (and Space Hulk )

Hopefuly this will give me some motivation to keep painting :P

After a long pause i recently decided to re-paint (of sorts) my DAs. Formerly a sucessor chapter known as Dark Knights of Caliban, i never was totaly happy with the army colours. So i decided to turn them into full fleged Dark Angels, and i must say it actually feels good to see them as such.

The original colours were dark angel green for most of the armour with gold shoulder pads, knees and backpack exausts

As part of the re-painting process i actually added highlights and jeweling to the helmet lenses (the sky must be about to fall) as well as changing the weapon casings from black to red and the plasma weapons from green to blue.

When i saw the Ravenwing image in the codex entry i decided i had to have a model like that, lots of fruitless searching

ensued, until the dark eldar were released and i was saved ;)

Finally, the release of the DV box prompted me to paint models for the space hulk game. I did not buy the DV box as none of the models fit (or are needed) into any of my armies, but i got my hands on a pair of Deathwing sets.

First some of the old metal terminators for the old space hulk (classic minis for a classic game). These guys i did paint in bone armour as oposed to the ones from my 40k army. It just seemed apropriate.

Second squad (the assault cannon guy got a strom bolter so the 2 heavy weapons would not be in the same model/pose, the chainfist got a power fist and the heavy flamer was handed to one of the identical SB/PF guys)
