Death Guard from plastic CSM - Pic Heavy

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Well, I decided that I'm going to go Nurgle, and Death Guard to be more specific. I just started collecting again, and haven't played a game since third edition, when I played Loyalists.

I bought a CSM Battleforce, and began painting a Black Legion army, but I have given in to Papa Nurgle. Here are my first 5 Plague Marines...

Credit for the Champs head goes to Brother Styphus on the boards here. His idea was great, and I had to try it my self.

Thanks for looking.

Well big kudos go out to both you and Brother Styphus... that champs head is absolutely awesome.

Great job.

The critique I have is on number 3, either make them tenticales reaching out or ... I don't know. I just looks like a prego marine. Fatboy number 2 is good, but number 3 just looks off.

Tyranid man:

I'll see what I can do about shortening the tentacle on number 4!

Terminatorinhell:

THe head is a regular CSM helmet that I cut the left side off of. After cutting off the eye area, I had to hollow the helmet out with my knife and pin vice. I had to hollow it out from both the side and bottom. Once I had it hollowed out, I took a Catachan head, cut it to fit inside the helmet, and then rammed it inside.

It's not all that tough, just time consuming.

Anyways, I got their backpacks finished, so here they are:

Glad you guys dig! I got one painted up as a color test, and I'm pretty happy with the results. Let me know what you guys think!

Good idea Dave. I just added a thinned out layer of chestnut ink, and the metal trim looks much better!

Also, I painted up the champ today. I'm happy with him, save for the face, but I haven't painted a face in about 5 years (must paint more helmet less guys for practice)
