Yraen
Been a while since I posted and I've built some Thousand Sons instead of Ultramarines and Iron Warriors. I can't stomach power armour much longer :D Here goes: http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i167/yraen_/Thousand%20Sons/TS010.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/142961-thousand-sons/ Share on other sites

Cornelias
best TS i've seen for a long time, these look old and arcane just like suits of armour that have been around for thousands of years. :P i always think the ones painted by the 'eavy metal team as far too bright and colourful and don't really fit chaos at all... Marchosias
They look awesome man. How did you paint them? I've done a squad so far in the 'Eavy Metal style but I think yours look better with that whole ancient look going on. I painted a test model last night trying to get the same sort of look as what you have achieved but couldn't quite get the highlights right. I used Midnight blue as a base, then regal blue, then higlighted with ultramarines blue and finally ice blue. However, it looks a little too slap-dash so i would also like to know the technique you used. Cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/142961-thousand-sons/#findComment-1675512 Share on other sites
tortoise
Nice models. I'd like to see a clearer picture. Marchosias- GW colours aren't really designed to be used as shades of each other straight from the pot. Midnight blue up to ice blue is too strong a contrast. You probably need to mix different highlight stages. You might also find a couple of glazes of ink will make the shades blend together better.
