Nice.

I would try adding a bit of chapter specific iconography to each to help make their old allegence a bit more obvious--just stuff like a wolf pelt, templar cross, defaced chapter symbol etc. whatever you have laying around (or whatever little bits you can beg friends for).

I did the same thing for the 3.5 codex.

To really drive the point home you should use loyalist legs and torsoes as well as loyallist helmets where you want them. After all, just because you are possessed doesn't mean that you have to have chaos Marine armour.

@teh_perfesser:im planning on doing the templar cross, crimson fist and the smurf iconography with paint :) as for the blood angel and space pup they will be getting some carefully placed transfers, sadly dont have any wolf pelts handy (used em on my 13th company army doh) but ive got a load of tails and will be adding some at a later point

@Lady_Canoness: i was tempted to do that originally, but in the end i decided that i could use the trim on the chaos parts to tie them in with the majority of my armies as well as each other and fluff wise its part of the summoning/possession ritual :D

I like your models, and like the idea, as long as you're not running it in an army with established fluff stating they consider possession an honor to be reserved for only the most deserving of chaos marines (Black Legion comes to mind). Such legions would not use possession as a punishment or mockery - loyalist scum simply wouldn't be worthy of hosting a daemon.

On the other hand, I totally see this as the kind of thing Alpha Legion or Night Lords would do as a show of contempt and to sow fear and disgust throught the enemy's ranks. It also seems like the kind of sorcerous experimentation that would come naturally to the Thousand Sons or other Tzeentchian traitors (especially if you throw a couple models with 'gift of chaos' into the army to drive the point home). If you theme it as a contagious affliction, it also works for Deathguard or other nurgle aligned chaos factions.

wasnt actually aware of that bit of fluff concerning the black legion but the other armies im thinking of using them with are night lords, death guard and world eaters so there shouldnt be any problems there now for more pics still pip but better than the group shot lol

Even for Black Legion, it could be made to work. There are a lot of subcommanders and subfactions in the Legion with their own divergent dogma, as well as annexed warbands from other Chaos Legions and factions that might bring with them their own beliefs and experiments. And they could be traitors who betrayed their legions to the Warmaster in exchange for personal power, in which case they wouldn't be forcibly possessed (at least, not necessarily), and the mockery comes not from the possession itself, but rather from choosing to continue wearing their original chapter's colors after defecting.

As a general thing, though, most within the Black Legion veiw possession as an honor, and possessed as bearers of good luck, due to a belief/superstition/legend that Horus himself was possessed. Voluntary possession (along with infighting and wars with the other traitor legions) devastated the ranks of the Sons of Horus after the retreat into the Eye, until Black Legion sorcerers discovered a method of controlling the process of possession, allowing them to maintain the stability of the possessed marine longer, and, most importantly, remove the daemon safely before it warped the marines body into a gibbering spawn.

Now honored and worthy members of the Legion are ritualistically possessed before battle, with the daemons subsequently exorcised afterwords, all overseen by Black Legion sorcerers.
