The Seraphim Terminatus

Corvus Corone

Recommended Posts

Hey there guys. Here's a link to the photobucket album of some shots of my dudes, for your perusal! Enjoy.

Though my standard of painting is not high, I'm most proud of the dreadnaught twins (Catharsis Aura and Archilochus Phenix) and my librarian HQ, the leader of the army, Corvus Corone, with his familiar (based on a Carnifex skull), "Bob".

The assault terms were an afterthought and I rushed them. The scouts were paid no attention whatsoever because I'm all about terminators.

EDIT: Hope the link works guys, someone tell me if it doesn't (it works for me)

Wow! :woot, that is some great painting there Corvus Corone! I especially like the detailed writing on the Terminators (and the beaky helmets.) the kill markings on the assault cannon terminator are a favourite of mine.

Corvus Corone himself lookos superb with the wings and his familair, althouhg I don't know many chapters with a Librarian as a chapter master but I don't care about that much. :)

How do you do that small writing on the banners? I must know! Mine are simply bad thick squiggles. :D Oh the shame of it.

Are the scouts still a Work in Progress?

The Dreadnought twins look excellent as well, the different sides for the bronze colour is brilliant.

One thing I've noticed though, what is the symbol for your chapter? I didn't seem to see it anywhere.

Keep up this great work Corvus and I look forward to seein the rest of the army when you build it.

Cambrius

Thanks for the kind words Cambrius!

Well, the secret to all my scrollwork, numerals and other text is a 0.1mm architectural pen. They're made for doing professional architectural schematics and blueprints but all I care about is that they're the thinnest pens availiable. A good company that makes them is Rotring.

The deal with Corvus being the head of Librarius and the Chapter master is that the rest of the chapter is Dead. they were all slain (during a single battle the chapter refers to now as the 'Eclipse'), and now all that remains is a small contingent of the first company, two dreadnaughts and a handful of scouts aboard a small frigate sized vessel, the Hammer of Serus. Corvus was the natural leader of the group, being head of librarius.

The scouts? I might get back around to them someday, but they don't really excite me much. They're kewl, but im all about terminators. I just really like them!

Chapter symbol? I never gave that any thought! I guess seeing as how the Chapter Reliquary, librarium and monastries were lost, no real banners survived.... have to think about that though.

Thanks again! I'll be making a more normal force with the new codex.

Thanks Louie! I was considering the swooping hawk wings, but the Eldar Autarch wings were best. They still needed a fair amount of re-working though, because the angle of the wings was all wrong to begin with, but somehow I muddled through (it was my first proper conversion!).
Yea go for it man, its awesome. I used parts from a tau battlesuit for the eye and the sensor disc and parts from a very old techmarine for the cables coming from its neck. Bob has slain eldar and gaurdsmen in his time, as well as a chaos marine! Fun times.
Thanks for the kind words Cambrius!

No problem brother.

Can you tell me where I can purchase one of these pens? I'm going to need it son when I start my company banner properly.

Cambrius

Sure think Brother Cambrius.

http://www.euroffice.co.uk has a good range, the pen you want is the Rotring Rapidograph. I find a nib size of 0.18mm does the job.

If you google though, you might find better prices or a retailer nearer where you are.

Hope that helps!
