jcolt
I thought i could share this with you guys, meet Brother-Captain Gideon Rawne of the Knights of the Covenant. http://img134.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc01145wi6.jpg Currently he is a Jump pack chaplain with the emperors champion sword, a terminator shield (not yet here) and some sort of bare head (took ages to dremmel out a hole for it ) thats in the making. All of the bits are ordered so i shall post up as he gets stuck together and then painted. J. jcolt
Ok, shield is now here so this shows you a mock up of him as he'll be. I just got to borrow some greenstuff from a mate and hopefully i can finish it tomorrow, well, all apart from the head...damn heads. http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/9241/dsc01205wq4.th.jpg http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/4310/dsc01208ea0.th.jpg Question, is it possible to superglue over paint? Could i paint the figure and then add the head later? lord_bunny
bad ass!!!! yes you can, but it is a bit less bonded, so be careful when handelling too much, ie dropping. Skull_Lord
Looks nice, and yes it is possible to add head later, i do it to all my models exept for the metal ones with sculpted-on heads Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/143319-knights-of-the-covenant-marines/#findComment-1665667 Share on other sites
jcolt
Thanks for the nice comments guys ;) I think i shall do that then, just have to clean up the little bits of black where i was testing the surface and hopefully i can spray it tomorrow. Its a damn easy conversion as well, just chop off a crozius and his bolt pistol + hand and the arms are done. As for the head its literally snipping as much off as possible with pliers and then drilling down :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/143319-knights-of-the-covenant-marines/#findComment-1665697 Share on other sites
jcolt
Update, i get some greenstuff from a mate later so the newly named "Master of the Conclave, Brother Rawne" can be finished and ready for painting. In other news theres going to be 7 marines who are close combat specialists, the only surviving knights of the "Conclave" (Read fluff from my link in sig for more) Each one will be armed differently but basically will have a CCW and a shield. First up is "Knight Uzziel", a standard swordsman. Relatively easy to convert he is all plastic with some minor but fiddly conversion bits. The shield used is a RIGHT handed company champions but i filed off the hand bit, replaced that with an altered right handed chainsword grip and viola! http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/1919/dsc01211at4.th.jpg http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/5752/dsc01212jq8.th.jpg http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/2319/dsc01213og3.th.jpg Each knight from the Conclave will have a larger diorama styled base and some sort of tabard/loincloth (again, fluff for details) and Uzziels is from a space marine biker i believe. Name pending... http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/3771/dsc01215vt9.th.jpg http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/6180/dsc01216fq5.th.jpg http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/2898/dsc01219en5.th.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/143319-knights-of-the-covenant-marines/#findComment-1676787 Share on other sites
lord_bunny
He's no longer a torso! looks great, but thin yer whites ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/143319-knights-of-the-covenant-marines/#findComment-1676804 Share on other sites
RWJP
Good model... But, he should have been looking over the shield! That would have made him look like he was charging at an enemy, shield raised to protect him... jcolt
Yeah i tried that and it did look better but the way the loincloth was folded it just messed up the models movement as its folded, maybe i'll try and change it. How do i go about thinning the whites can i ask? Solinus
Lookin good! The second one kinda looks like a champion conversion i did a while ago. Here are some pics: http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r41/Patriarch-/company-champion1.jpg http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r41/Patriarch-/company-champion2.jpg http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r41/Patriarch-/company-champion3.jpg Might give you some inspiration idk. jcolt
Well as his shield is converted to be a right handed one that certainly gives me something to work on, i saw another company champion in GW burton that i took a photo of as its pose was really nice, so hopefully this will be like one of my next models. I think its the kneeling legs converted to make him run up the rock. http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/3458/p2908081132ig6.jpg One side note is that the face came out terrible in the photo (i know everyone says it) and in real life the stubble looks a lot darker. Oh yes and i've moved his head so he's looking over the shield in a charge, i'll post another pic when he is based on the ice styled one i'm working on.
