High Paladin Allerka

Somewhere in Castellum Acies, the Chapter Keep of the Lords of Oblivion, a collection of figures gathered around a large table. Some of the figures, however, were glowing hololiths, representing those members unable to attend in person. Among them were Captains Tiburin and Solarin, and Inquisitor Elliot. The others were present in person, and included Captains Tyrion, Ith'mak, and Jor'hale from the Lords of Oblivion, Lord General Yamoz of Firien's Terran Imperial Guard, Fleet Admiral Jorungeld of the Imperial Navy, and Councilor Gormand, the senior representative of Firien's Magisterium that oversaw the operation of Firien in the absence of the High Paladin.

They either stood or sat around the table, talking among themselves. The walls of the chamber were the same dark stone the rest of Castellum Acies was made of, and a single, small window, overlooked one of its many courtyards. The sunlight from outside mixed with several glowglobes suspended around the room, giving a modest level of light, but still leaving some portions of the room swathed in shadow.

Suddenly, the massive double-doors to the chamber swung open, pushed aside by a pair of Terminators. Those present in the room halted their conversation, and all stood facing the third figure which entered the room behind the Terminators. The Space Marines present also saluted.

The doors were over three meters high and just as wide, yet the figure that entered seemed to barely fit through the doorway. Though he was likewise clad in a suit of Terminator Armor, the massive form of High Paladin Allerka seemed to dwarf even those that had preceded his entrance.

His armor alone added a considerable amount of bulk, but the massive wings that adorned his back further augmented his imposing stature. They were mechanical in nature, and resembled the wings of the Aquila, and gently flexed in response to Allerka's movements. On his right shoulder was painted a full-color representation of his personal heraldry, which was also the Chapter's symbol. The silver sword, which was flanked by the Imperial Laurel, seemed to glow in the dim light. Sheathed at his side was a massive sword, the arcane blade known as Dremori. Its blade glowed with a dull red light, seemingly exuding an aura of life all its own.

In addition to the massive armor, he seemed to radiate an aura of confidence, and the others in the room felt calmed by his presence, yet still weary, for they knew full well the destructive fury he was capable of unleashing. His grizzled face was emotionless and calm, yet an inferno of power and rage could be seen resting just below the surface. He surveyed the room with his golden brown eyes as he spoke, his voice deep and seemingly resonating with ancient wisdom.

"Gentlemen, thank you for coming. I wished to speak with you briefly, to inform you of my plans. Though I have been overseeing the rebuilding of the Chapter these past years, my dreams have been growing increasingly disturbed. Memories, portents, other things I cannot explain... I sense that something truly calamitous is about to strike the Imperium. What it is, I cannot be certain. I know, however, that I must meet this threat head on, not sitting here, on Firien. I have spent too long behind a desk. Therefore, I will be joining Captains Tiburin and Solarin and their battle-group.

"The 5th Company is now also restored to full fighting strength, so they will be accompanying me. Captain Tyrion, ready your Marines for war. We will depart by nightfall. Lord General Yamoz, Fleet Admiral Jorungeld, I will require support elements from your organizations. I request the aid of five regiments and two Navy battle-groups. Ensure they are ready to join us when we depart." The two humans nodded.

"Something far worse than anything the Imperium has faced is coming, Brothers. I intend to be there to greet it when it arrives. That is all." With that, Allerka turned and strode out of the chamber.

After about a month's hiatus on this project (trying to find a suitable sword), I finally finished it! WIP thread here, if interested. And, of course, feedback. Enjoy! :)

After looking at the pictures, I realize there's a few chips of paint missing. Such is the downside of working with metal. I'll fix them when I have a chance...

I like the conversion work and the freehand painting. The crux looks great also. Not sure about the censor (the bit) but you painted it well.

Good job.

Thanks. I wanted to put a couple of "bling" bitz on, and that one seemed like a good fit. Problem is with Marine models, given how the arms and torsos are scaled, it gets hard to hang stuff off the belt. The knee might not be the best location, but it worked, so... :D

Just in time for him to lead your forces to victory in 5th Edition! Excellent work! :D

Indeed! I'm working on rules for my homegrown codex too, so I don't have the awkward situation of using Abaddon's rules with an otherwise Loyalist force in Apocalypse games and such.
