BlackTemplar555
I have played SM and eldar and now I got a bunch of old chaos models for free so I think I will take a shot at them. I ask though, what are the most popular armies? I see alot of world eaters in the army list section as well as thousand sons. The bigger question is what are the most solid units that nearly any army will take? I want to start with models that will not need changed around ie. PFs on champions? The emperors chosen
2 question, what do you have, and what army do you want to do Long live the Emperor Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/143630-about-to-begin-chaos/#findComment-1664139 Share on other sites
Roultox
You cannot kill what is already dead. You cannot claim life in something that is just a shell. The emperor is a corpse given life support that keeps the brain around, which no longer thinks. Brain dead! SO, as for chaos, a few simple things to remember... Prepare for everything you can for the playstyle you want. Powerfists are a must if you do a lot of melee. Keep the units specialised for the enemy types, dont blend their capabilities too much unless they can do so naturally. (Like kraks+Powerfists for zerkers vs tanks for example) Post a list and we'll help further. BlackTemplar555
So far after sifting through the pile of sprue I was given it came out to this: 2 Bikes, 6 Zerkers, 7 Marines, Predator with Lascannons, Rhino. Obviously this is weak and thats what I want to fix. Also, the marines and one zerker do not yet have weapons so anything would really work. It looks like taking the full squads of 10 marines with 2x special weapon (normally plas?) is a good start. I think I want to go for a more assault-orientated list with some backup firepower. I think World Eaters might fit this and I like the Aspiring champion models. Whats best to buy for this route? Brother Nihm
A good place to start is the Aspiring Champion's Handbook topic, stickied at the top of this forum. FishSpit
I personally use 9 Berzerkers (w/skull champion) in a rhino (land raider if you got the points) with my lord riding with them for extra power, that seems to do well against about any unit, just remeber to lay down some support for them Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/143630-about-to-begin-chaos/#findComment-1667311 Share on other sites

Romulas
well to start: TROOPS. CSM troop choices rock pretty hard. the basic ones have bolters as well as close combat weapons, good for either role. not to mention the faction troopers are troop choices as well. i usually go for the two special weapons version but it does make you depend on your other choices to take out tanks & large beasties. raptors make great shock troops (with two meltas mobile tank hunters). and havoks are always worth their wieght in points. gather your collection and post what you got or just add what you need :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/143630-about-to-begin-chaos/#findComment-1667526 Share on other sites
chillin
If your s/m army was indeed BT's , I wouldn't suggest making a WE army, it will play too much like your BT's. You'll basicly have two rush in and assault armies, one painted red and the other painted black & white.
