Gareth
I finished this dreadnought on Friday night, came out ok. Not bad for snap fit model. It now completes all the marines from the assault on Black Reach boxed game. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i278/Gareth_tyranids/Ultramarines/Dread5.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i278/Gareth_tyranids/Ultramarines/Dread6.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i278/Gareth_tyranids/Ultramarines/Dread7.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i278/Gareth_tyranids/Ultramarines/Dread8.jpg More pics of all my Assault on Black Reach models can be viewed here in one handy and convenient post. http://www.thepainteddragon.co.uk/forum/in...hp?topic=1193.0 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144260-assault-on-black-reach-dreadnought/ Share on other sites
Kaeso
As with the Captain, Termies and Tactical Sqd, another lovely paint job. It does look good for a snap fit. It's got me all fired up for when my box arrives :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144260-assault-on-black-reach-dreadnought/#findComment-1671866 Share on other sites
Brother Nihm
Crisp, my only point of critique is that the tarnish on the barrel goes on in a straight line, if you had broken it up a bit by making it uneven, it would look even better. My favourite parts are the weathering, the lenses, scrollwork and scribbly parts. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144260-assault-on-black-reach-dreadnought/#findComment-1671873 Share on other sites
lord_bunny
looks great! although that gap in the hand is drawing my eyes, looks like a biz to fill. still a brilliant job! now I need to wait to get that in store... still you get it early, I get it 1/3 cheaper. That is fair to me! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144260-assault-on-black-reach-dreadnought/#findComment-1671948 Share on other sites
Dorns Padawan
Well done, this is a very well painted model! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144260-assault-on-black-reach-dreadnought/#findComment-1671965 Share on other sites
nurglespuss
Excellent job. I'm definately going to pick one up Gareth. And thanks for the multiple angles, now I've seen the poor quality in sculpting of that engine block, I'll definately graft on a spare one from my bits box instead :> Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144260-assault-on-black-reach-dreadnought/#findComment-1672004 Share on other sites
icallitsoda
everything else aside, i love the basing/weathering Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144260-assault-on-black-reach-dreadnought/#findComment-1672264 Share on other sites
c-wrex
I love multi-melta's on dreadnoughts! Nobody seems to use them, though... -_- Great model, dude! Pig Of Sparta
Fantastic paint job on all of the black reach minis you've done, it's amazing what you can do with snap fit models when you can paint well :-) quick question for you though, how do the termies come on the sprue is it arms and head separate, body in one piece? Megalodon
Wow, for a snap fit mini he is excellent. Julio
Hey Gareth i didn't know you were on this site too. Nice job on the dreadnought. Are the arms separate pieces like on individual sets? Gareth
Hey Gareth i didn't know you were on this site too. Nice job on the dreadnought. Are the arms separate pieces like on individual sets? Hi, sorry I don't recognise your username. I'm on around 10 forums. The arms are separate from the body. mine are held on with magnets so if i discover the weapon loadout doesn't suit my army, i'll buy some forgeworld ones. Tzetrik
Im a bit dissapointed by the hollow arms. I wish they'd done something to fill them, or at least try to hide it with a bit of a lip. Shouldn't be too hard to plasticard a back to them though. Lovely paint job though, well done! Prot
Gareth, I said this on another forum.... You've got an awesome looking army started. I think you're also going at a really admirable pace. It won't be long before you getting some 'best appearance' marks at the average tournaments. Keep it up. Chaplain Desmodus
*weeps with envy* Oh cr@p, now those are some finely painted models. :P The captain is fantastic, the model itself is just great and your paintjob really makes it come alive. :) Could you please describe some ofyour paint recipes, namely the blue, the deep reds and the bone-white? As a side-thought, isn't this your army, or one that you painted and sold a while back?
