Evening Brothers, may I present Marius Astelan, Chapter Master of the Knights Vermilion, more of chapter will follow as soon as i paint strip the rest of my marines. as always, all c&c welcome.....

Its a nice build and paint job, but it doesn't look much like a Chapter Master to me.

 

Bit more bling, a cloak, possibly a banner then you'd be on the right track.

 

Also, you might want to take a look at the star on the storm shield (bottom picture) - It looks like the transfer you used frosted over.

thanks for the comments, i know what you mean about the transfer, i didn't notice til i'd varnished it, any idea how i can sort it?

 

With regard to more bling, i'm gonna give him an iron halo on his back pack once i get one and paint it up, i entertained the idea of a banner, but i've always thought they looked a bit impractical sticking up off what's supposed to be a seveen foot killing machine, i'm not so keen on cloaks either, purely cause they can be a bit annoying to paint.

Thin down some black and paint around the edge of the star, that should do the trick. Im sure there's a transfer tutorial somewhere on the board - have a go with the searchy skull and see what comes up.

 

I'd agree with you on the banner, even though im doing back banners in my new army. :D

 

If your not to keen on the cloak, more ornate armour could help him to stand out a bit more from the rank and file.

 

Another coat of brown on the base edge would neaten up the overall apperance, it looks a little cracked in some areas.

 

If I can think of anything else i'll let you know.
