Heretique
Hello all! Well, this is going to be my first post here and my first post on a Warhammer forum ever :P I'll do a short introduction..yes. I'm 21 old girl/woman (whatever :P) from Holland and I started playing, converting and painting about 3 months ago. My first start was a chaosarmy full of shiny noise marines, who I will most certainly finish one day..but not now :P You might guess that the sisters have full priority atm, I love em! (partly thanks to Dawn of War - Soulstorm..which made the choice for sisters even easier) Enough of that! I would like to show some of the stuff I made the last few weeks and yes, I'm a slow painter. But I do my best! I still have to make some fluff and think of a name for the order. So if you guys have any ideas please share :D! C&C always welcome! http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/4360/flamers01dh1.jpg These three are the first models I painted for my sisters. (my very first was a chaos marine, which I do not have a picture of) http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/9485/heavybolter06ma0.jpg http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/7532/heavybolter07zs9.jpg http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/111/battlesister01fa1.jpg Not to proud about her face :/ but practice makes perfect ^^ http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/2858/repentia01rt4.jpg http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/9175/repentia08ak4.jpg Love these models! http://img53.imageshack.us/img53/5180/priest01so4.jpg And the priest that will go with my Repentia's (found this model lying around a bitsbox, Weaponswap + Fleur de Lys + Purity seal = Female Priest :P) http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/2640/dscf0160on1.jpg So much to paint o_O! The lighting on these pictures isn't very good, should read some more about making model pictures. But you have an idea now :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144354-sisters-of-battle-blog/ Share on other sites
Trajan
Nice colour scheme, and really really good job on their faces. ^_^ Only thing i would change is to turn the priests blade edge outwards. -Trajan Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144354-sisters-of-battle-blog/#findComment-1672926 Share on other sites
Disruptor_fe404
I like the colour scheme too, and I second the change to the Priest(ess)'s weapon. Might just be the photos, but I'd advocate highlighting the hair, looks a little flat at the moment. I like the blue inking/shading a lot (because I do the same thing on my marines with black ink. Biased? Perhaps) but it looks like a couple of them need their boots tidied up, there's some basing/earthen colour/material on them. The fingers on the heavy bolter Sisters could do with a quick inking for some definition. Love the Repentia in the action pose! Coppella
Looking good so far. Great to see more Sister players. Might make GW decide to make plastic kits. ;) I do agree that some of the inking could use a little tidying up. If you have access to the new Citadel washes, I highly recommend them. They make painting so much easier. Color scheme is cool, almost complete contrast to my Sisters army. Take a peek if you wish: My Painting Log Hope to see more soon! ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144354-sisters-of-battle-blog/#findComment-1673049 Share on other sites
Heretique
Thanks for the comments ;) Tbh I don't use inks to get the blue shade...I get it from layering, painfull layering ;) I agree it needs to get a bit more tidy, but like I said practice makes perfect. I do use the washes for on the metalics and the faces, really nice to work with! @Coppella: I love the painting on your Seraphims! battle captain corpus
@Heretique: Great Sisters there! The colour is very strking, plus makes a change from the "normal" Orders that have darker tones of red etc. Nice work, excellent! Coppella
Thanks! They do well game wise too. Feel free to join us in the tactics/inquisitor forums if you ever have questions. Zealous
Only thing i would change is to turn the priests blade edge outwards. Definitely. For me this is very distracting and annoying. If you follow the angle of her hand down with a chopping blow, she's actually striking with the dead side of the blade, with the live edge to her face (not good!). Other than that, those are really spiffy models! 4 thumbs up.
