Hello D.D! your models are looking good so far painted clean and tidily, but you need to salamander them up! flames are usually a good start! scales, allot of people are using the lizard men sprues to accesorise! but theyre your marines so its up to you!

S.O.N.

Looks like a terrific start! I agree with Son of Nocturne. The addition of flames, salamander cloaks (from Chaplain Xavier) or scaly tabards, and hammers really make them stand out. Also, metallic colors work well. I've also found that the Alpha legion shoulder pads make excellent salamander ones too.

I can't wait to see the finished product.

Not to sure if the Zavier cloaks are available on their own through GW (?), but agree that alpha legion shoulder pads are always a good adition!

S.O.N.

Unfortunately they are not available at this time. I had a few floating around but I mostly reserve them for my HQ's and Vet. Sergeants.

Same here, heard about bitz going under and bought a few. anyhoo off topic, i think that regluc (?) used the new warhamer dark eldar bits for a vulcan conversion, so might be worth having a look at them as well, obviously money is a factor, so GS might be easier at the end of the day innit...

S.O.N.

Thanks for the comments both of you, Yea the alpha shoulders are nice but it will cost me some money to get them. Hmm yea GS are a cheap way just u have to bee good at it. Gonna try to make some tabards for them( i think thats the name of the cloth pice betwen their legs :cuss ) The robe on the second pic i have made from green stuff.
These are looking good, but I've got a little trick for you for the scaled tabbards. Sculpt the shape of the tabbard and put in on the marine with out any texture, just plain. Let that dry completely and just kind of pull it off of him, it should just detach rather easily. Heres the fun part, roll out really small balls of greenstuff and stick them onto the tabard, take the flat end of your sculpting tool and just push them down they flatten out, repeat that and you should ahve tabbards covered in really dope scales. Painting is looking good, the highlights are crisp and the green is nice.

Ok time for another uppdate.

This are my first Squad, Paint almost all of the base colors so soon gonna start with the details/highlightning
