spikyjames
Hi all meant to post these over the weekend! As some of you may know i've started painting another Ultramarine army so i thought i'd let you see how i get on as the months progress. Here is the first half of the first tactical squad all finished- http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d42/spikyjames/Ultramarines/103_3091.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d42/spikyjames/Ultramarines/103_3090.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d42/spikyjames/Ultramarines/103_3089.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d42/spikyjames/Ultramarines/103_3088.jpg just got to get painting the 2nd half now, here they are built- http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d42/spikyjames/WIP%20Stuff/103_3092.jpg let me know what you think. cheers James

c-wrex
Wow. I love the sergeant and the battle brother on the far left in the first pic. They both look superb, and the detail on the sarge is just plain heroic. Not to say the other models are shabby, but compared to those two, their greatness is eclipsed. Bravo! Put yourself down for a promotion.
Chaplain Desmodus
I think the painting is excellent (as always), the dark style makes these UM look quite interesting too. I'm not too thrilled by the snow though. It looks kind of like they're wading through a mass of pillow-feathers. ;) Snow for these guys is a great idea, but I think you should think of a different kind of snow-effect. Keep your eyes peeled for more :pinch: cheers James

Zealous
Looks amazing. Can we see WIP shots from the back for the walking "shooters" in both the first and the second 5?

A17roolz
Awesome Ultramarines, I love them! Exactly the right shade of blue in my opinion too. If I'm not mistaken, it sort of looks like you started from a dark blue base, drybrushed to pick out the highlights then highlighted it with two different shades of blue. Of course I could be totally wrong :P
Mr.(Space)Marine
Now those are some great Ultras. Most of the ones I have seen look like they have been dunked in a tub of blue paint but those look amazing. I think the one on the far left on the first pic is the awesome-est (that is a word now). Draakur
Really high quality stuff, that blue makes Ultras feel so much more menacing. No complaints or advice really, just congrats :P

SCC
Lovely, simply lovely. Have you considered a different colour for the ribbed area of the plasma gun? The blue fades into the mini too much for my liking, a different colour might be more striking perhaps.
Xenocidal Maniac
Awesome. I like the dark blue scheme a lot and the paint job is very clean. I kind of agree with Chaplain, though, the snow looks kind of feather-y
