dark_inquisitor
just found thread and Really good work! for the combi-weapons, you also might try putting the weapons side by side as well, especially the bolter-plasma mix, it doesn't seem to fit with the work up until now. Snozz
Well, I do have lots of spare plasma pistols, could fit a few combi plasmas in my sternguard. Nice weapons there, I like the design of the combi plasma gun. I think a grenade launcher would be cool, tried to do one before but it didn't work out great, might give it another go at some point. :) EDIT: Have the urge to do a cool counts as character (a use for the Mk9 :)), any ideas as to which one I should do? Might not use them too much, but it'd be good fun to build one when I get a free moment. So which one would look coolest? FastEd
As cool as they look...how are the marine hands going to hold them, as the marine hands/wrists don't really leave room for wrapping around the clip? I'm interested to see what you end up doing about it. I'm interested to see what you end up doing about it. You mean Short's ones? I think it could be fixed with a bit of green stuffing at the wrist. I had to for the tau-bolter one. dark_inquisitor
slightly off topic, but astartes refuse to use xenos tech. but do xenos use human tech when they have to? I know they're tech. more advanced than us, but iif the situation calls for it? or maybe even a trophy? i.e. a crisis suit with a heavy bolter on the side? My guys are slightly divergent, and there are *rumours* of them using xenos tech, and inquisitors like to poke around a bit, but there is no proof. So far. Also if you are refering to the tau-bolter, that's not meant to be tau tech, I just called it that cos I can't think of a better name. :P Oh yeah, deathwatch are known to use Xenos tech when the situation calls for it. And I doubt xenos wouldn't use Human tech cos it's "Human". If it kills people and you're out of ammo pick it up. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144419-mk-9-armour-and-modified-bolters/page/3/#findComment-1769772 Share on other sites
Shortsonfire79
For the guns with the clips in the front, those would be give to commanders or something, who could be holding the gun by the left hand grip, and pointing somewhere with the left. FastEd
Officially the Imperium doesn't use xenos tech, however in actuality they most certainly do, and quite frequently. Just most citizenry don't know it. As for the other way around, yeah, everybody uses other people's stuff when they need to, however most races have trouble lifting an Astartes Pattern Boltgun, let alone firing it. They weight some ungodly weight. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144419-mk-9-armour-and-modified-bolters/page/3/#findComment-1770707 Share on other sites
Snozz
Fixed up most the dodgey bits on my captain now. Looks much better I think. Will get some good photos up soon. Another idea. Uzis as bolt pistols. Could look quite good. Just trying to think of a way to do it that doesn't require too much sculpting. Snozz
Hurrah for laziness. I've been a bit slow, but I've got the squad pretty much assembled now, a new paint scheme is up, tested it on a marine, I think it works. It's also a bit faster. I've just got to base the marine and I'll get some pictures up. I need a new captain though, will be a counts as chapter master, cos I just can't say no to orbital bombardment. I'll also give him Mk9 armour V2. Will be good fun to build. Also I might model orbital bombardment as a gaint gun, as suggested elsewhere on the forums in several places (anyone want credit for that idea?) and seems to fit my fluff nicely. Speaking of which I plan to redo most of my fluff, so at the moment I'm sticking with: A chapter where the marines are granted a certain amount of time a day to modify their own weaponry. The 10th company isn't scouts, but another company of marines. About 10 scouts are assigned to each company, giving the chapter a full strength of 1100 marines. The chapter specialises in seige warfare. They are Iron Hands succesors. Dropped the specific companies stuff, got a bit too complicated, this is the new version, I will add to it over time, but even then, this will be the short version. Here's the paint scheme: http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/oo38/Snozzbucket/SpaceMarine.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144419-mk-9-armour-and-modified-bolters/page/3/#findComment-1811577 Share on other sites
