the paint i used played with my camera. i used a base color of metallic grey/black and overlayed it with blue, so depending on the direction of the lighting it looks more blue or grey. this shot shows a little of both.

p.s.

yes i know i didn't put the side "wings" on the desolator, i didn't like the way they looked.

Well the funny thing about this is. BFG is cheap compared to 40K(an entire playable fleet for the equivalent cost of a single land raider). as i know i will never build any of the other armies i would like for 40K(i think the 5 i have are enough). so first i built up a grey knight force at 1K and decided both as a counter and for demo games to build up a chaos fleet.

Since i alweays liked the way thousand sons looked and thier back story i decided to go that route.

The fleets also operate very differently, as with most marine fleets in BFG the GKs are close ranger brawlers and masters of hit&run thunderhawk attacks. the sons fleet focus's more on long range lance battery fire and force protection.

beyond that i really have not given much thought to back story. one of our imperial fleet players however does have a battle log he keeps for his fleet including commendations and such.

I always wanted to get into BFG, but no one really plays around here. Nice models! I remember there was a local tourney a few years back where a campaign was being played on both 40K and BFG level, and the BFG guys were orbital bombing the 40K table across from them... tie-ins like that are what make the game interesting, if you really wanted to you could use EVERY aspect of 40K in a HUGE campaign... 40K, BFG, Epic, Imperialis Aeronautica, and Inquisitor.

Anyhow, lets us know how you fair with this!

if you really wanted to you could use EVERY aspect of 40K in a HUGE campaign... 40K, BFG, Epic, Imperialis Aeronautica, and Inquisitor.

How cool would that be? Doubt it would ever happen though, but we can always imagine...

I too have been interested in BFG but have never eally gotten into it, mainly because specialist games weren't available in Australia for years. They are now though, so a specialist game of some sort is a possibility (but I doubt anyone else would want to get one with me :D )

Nice ships, I never thought I'd see a TS fleet.
