The "Wolf Time" is approaching

Megalodon

Right now I'm on a building frenzy, I'd like to have everything built before I do any major painting.

I've built a Dread, 12 Blood Claws and about 9 Grey Hunters.

I've found a use for my old 2nd ed hand flamers.

I know it's been a while but I need to take a break from my Chaos marines, so I've been tinkering with my Wolves. I'm in the process of converting up 8 Grey Hunters in Mk IV armor.

Here is a mock up of my first Wolf Guard who will accompany the first Grey Hunters Pack.

He will be getting more hair on his head, a goatee, Mk VI cabling on his torso and some Wolf Bling like wolf tails and teeth. Sorry for the quick and slightly blurry pic.

Thanks dude, I love them old hand flamers too and decided to give them a new life as counts as flamers because they look so darned Kool!

I'm thinking of changing the right arm on the WG to an outstretched shooting arm. I think it might make him a little more dynamic. What do you think?

I like the arm as is, save the idea for your next posed fig.

I concur. If you were to put a different arm on this model, a shooting arm would look good. I might turn the hand slightly just to set it off a little. The model is posed very well, so I wouldn't change it too much.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll keep the arms the way they are. :)

Progress on the GS work for the WG.

These 2nd ed Long Fangs just came out of a simple green bath, they still need a little clean up. I love the leg armor on these bad boys! I'm gonna fuse the lower bodies of these LF's with current chests and heads; this way they can carry the current Heavy Weapons.

They work pretty well with the current stuff. I think I mixed in some chaos weapons when I did mine (about 10 years ago)

With your GS work, I'm sure yours will look great.

Keeping the old school models on the table is a lot of fun. It showcases the fact you're not a front runner.

I appreciate the kind words. I have to say though, after looking at your minis and a few others on this site, I was I stayed away from the blue/grey that was in the 2nd edition codex. I'm thinking I may put together a lost company that was preheresy or right around the time of the heresy so I have an excuse to paint some truly grey, feral wolves. I'm hoping the 13th company rules are in the next codex and are workable.

Anyway, your GS looks great. I'm really looking forward to seeing these minis painted. Great stuff.

Thanks for the comments!

Here's todays GS progress. The loincloth will be furry in the next update. I'm not completely happy with the chest cables but they will be fine for now.

Good stuff Megalodon, any more mark 4s coming around?

Yes there are, I'm currently working on 8 more mark 4's. They are completely unassembled which is why there are no pics yet. Once I slap them together I'll get some pics up.

I'm also working on five more mark 6 conversions similar to what I'm doing currently with the WG. Plus there are two mark 3's I'm tinkering with one GH with a Plasma gun and one WG with a SS and PF.

This army will be chocked full of nifty conversions. ;) I really do love the Wolves and want a truly unique army when I'm done with this revamp.

Isn't that Mk6 armor RT era you sculpted there?

Yes, loosely based off this modern drawing.

He looks even better with the beard. I kinda think that the chest cables will look just fine after being painted. And as for the loincloth becoming furry in the next update, I take it to mean that you're not going to grow mould on it... ;)

Here is the WG about 85 to 90 percent finished. I'm now gonna add a wolf tooth necklace to the right shoulder and some wolf tails to the left.
