This Wolf Lord is my first real attempt at a conversion. I used a fair load of green stuff, I extended the legs by sawing them then adding a bit of spruce, the shoulders are from standard Chaos Marines, the teeth on his neck guard came from a Ork, his hair and capes were just more green stuff and the lightning claw was made using a normal fist and some combat knifes (I know it's been done before but it looks cool).

I'm still working on the paint job but should have it finished soon. What you think?

Yeah the purple rinse is just there until I decide what colour to do the hair...and the angry look, well, it's a very aggressive yawn. I'll get to fixing them both.

I've started a standard bearer now as well and so far it's 8 bit's for just the body and left arm. All this converting will be why I only have 1 core unit finished.

Just thought I'd keep the progress updates trickling in. I've changed the hair colour to white, brought some more detail to the furs, started some highlighting on the claws and started blocking out the wolves heads on the back pack. Things I was wondering were...

How would you guys make him look angrier?

And ideas for the claws?

I was thinking of re-basing him on a bigger one: Yay or Neigh?

Thanks for the help.

1- Try a load of thing washes to the creases, to exaggerate his facial stresses, this should make him look more angry.

2- they kick arse, and are fine! Prehaps a final, very thin white highlight? but thats up to you!

3- I like the base, very like the codex cover, but again that ones for you to decide.

Oh, it also looks brilliant! White hair makes him look less like an old lady

awesome job man !

i love the pastel brightness, it reminds me of how people used to paint space wolves waaay back in the day.

i think to maybe make him look a bit more pissed off and not so "ugh.... what now?!" type of look, you could try putting either a wash or a thin line above his eyebrows to make them look more raised up in fury.

This is pretty much as far as I think I can go with this Wolflord (I'm not sure you can see it in the picture he does look meaner). I think he's ready to lead the army...though he may get relegated now that I've learned a few things from doing him.
