Fightingfirst
Alright thats a tiny lie, it isnt quite my first model i used to paint when I was 8 but never bothered with shading etc and have just got back into the hobby bout 9 yrs later, this is my first attepmt with a decent amount of colours. This is only a test model, hoepfully my painting shall improve for the real ones, well without further ado here it is: http://i539.photobucket.com/albums/ff358/Fightingfirst/Image1.jpg Critical comments are welcome. By the way my bad photography skills hide the fact that the bolter is highlighted some what. Also a question, is it worth doing nmm on a simple marine or is it best saved for commanders etc? Snozz
It's very good for a first attempt. With NNM I would say either do nothing in it, or do the whole army in it, because one commander with NNM will look out of place.
Fightingfirst
Serg. is finally done, dont know why but for some reason I am not happy with this model just doesnt seem right, any way here it is comments are welcome: http://i539.photobucket.com/albums/ff358/Fightingfirst/p1.jpg
harrish
They look really good for a first attempt, kudos. I think the only reason the sarge looks a little odd is because there is so much red on him, it might clash a little with the green, probably just because you've painted the focal point of the model (the helmet) entirely red. Maybe next time for a bit of balance just try painting a red stripe on his helmet ^_^
c-wrex
What Harrish said. Maybe do the detail work on the plasma pistol and chainsword with red, not the whole model. I personally like the industrial look. Great work though, dude!
JetfireUK
Those are two very respectable models. I'm looking over to my first two after a long hiatus and they're not quite up to your level of painting! In regards of the figure the only element I would change would be the base. I think that a base of flock looks a little odd (just my opinion) so perhaps you could look at using sand instead with a bit of flock added here or there? Also the ring of the base could use a couple of watered down layers of green so that the colour is a bit more solid. Overall I'm very impressed with your figures - I might sound a little picky about the base but it's only because your figures look so good! Fightingfirst
Thanks for the coment. About the flock, its all I have at the moment so Im just basing them like that until I buy a better alternative and then Ill base them on one of those moulded bases intead. voi shet magir
You have been reading too much internet. Something made you competent, it may as well have been that.
