Salamanders WIP

Recommended Posts

Here are some WIP shots of my first Salamanders Tactical Squad, they're armament is Las, Plas, Pfist Vet and for the time being I'll be using the Dark Angels rules for an upcoming tournement.

The modelling is more or less finished on these guys. Some of the conversions I went with are tabards and shoulder hangings made from Dark Elf Corsair cloaks hacked up. I've added studs to their armour in different locations, which are made of plasticard rod cut down. And what will really make the models stand out I think are the bases inspired by Lemmingspawn's Iron Warriors uber bang bang death army.

So here are the pictures;

Still a fair amount of work to be done, black needs highlighting, flames to be added to left hand and right shoulder as well as insignia on the left shoulder. Believe I'll gloss varnish the lava as well and paint some eyes.

Decent.

Didn't know you where gonna do Sallies. I might go that route as well when the new codex comes out. Only thing I'm not too sure of is the shoulder "hangings".. they seem too stiff and unnatural. Might just be the pics, I'll have to see fer myself. Bring 'em by the store as soon as possible. Other than that they look awesome. If I do start a Sallies army, I'm definately stealing the DE corsair tabards, seeing as I got a <DELETED BY THE INQUISITION>e load laying around. Oh, one more thing...Was that metal I seen on a few of yer models?!?! The SACRILEGE!! Anyways, looks good.

Peace...

Progress was slow last night, kept getting distracted with watching episodes of Metalocalypse. All the marines are ready for their first coat of snot green at least.

Nice use of striking and contrasting colours on those dudes. It works really well - I was wondering how the colours would work together because I'm considering doing something like that with the new marines in the new box set.

Flaming hands look cool :rolleyes:

Combat Dev Squad done.

Did these guys over the course of the last three evenings. Think they turned out fairly well, flames on the legs took me a LONG time.

@Barry hhh: I'll try to do a tutorial when things slow down here a bit. :D
