Shiodome
haha, you might have to wait a bit longer... i never use a command squad in games, and i'm getting the stuff i use the most painted first. so the ass fondled apothecary is going to have to be patient. but... i FINALLY finished the terminators. so i promise this is the last time they get posted (unless in an army shot at some point) http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a396/r3c/gw/99tfu001.png http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a396/r3c/gw/99tfu002.png Raaaar! *beats chest in a manly 'i finished a unit!' fashion* ... though now i look at them, i might have to redo the sergeants crux terminatus (sp?) as the way i painted it a year ago is different to the way i do it now. TheOtakuGundam
Great job on the marines. i think that the guns should be mostly opposite of your color scheme and the rest silver (the trim)., that is what i do (black bolters with white trim) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144866-sons-of-taurus/page/3/#findComment-2152391 Share on other sites

The Finn
Really love the scheme on this army and your painting is excellent. I just wish your camera was slightly better. :D I'm going to be starting a new SM army with a similar light scheme and was wondering about the shoulder pad insets. That dark line the sits in the recess, is that a wash you apply or do you just let a bit of the primer show through? I like that, gives it great depth and I want to be able to duplicate it. Shiodome
Working on my sternguard. Trying out the white backpack vents, opinions? (compared to the original gold vents) http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a396/r3c/gw/wgry444001.png only just seen your post finn (don't know how i missed it!) if i'm thinking of the same bit, that's badab black painted (not washed... i.e done neatly) into the edges. sometimes a few layers if it's not dark enough. it's relly quick to do as the wash naturaly runs into that part of the model anyway. The Dark Angle
Looking nice, though I get the feeling I've seen them somewhere else. ^_^ SHC there mr Lucifer? ;) and the guy saying the apothecary's patient looks to be grabbing ass.... damn you, damn you to hell!! i can't not see it now it's been seen  i know what you mean though now i've looked at it... is either going to need a new hand, or just run with it, and get some hand/ass contact going. am currently turning my 'free' white dwarf terminator into a lightening claw equiped terminator sergeant (fingers crossed he still has access to armory in new codex), is a bit of a hack job due to being 'new' to the hobby (again) i don't have a bits box to speak off... so the few spares from the commander sprue are getting spread pretty thinly now. also trying to convert the scout sniper models to be holding silenced bolters;which is proving very difficult. i didn't realise before buying them they were so unposable, with arms moulded to guns/body. :( the terminator is being done for a local painting competition (edinburgh GW), to be done by friday  so pics soon... always good to have a deadline. is it bad form to enter it into the B&C competition i just noticed too? Ha, funny you said Can not not see it now it's been seen. sorry couldn't help myself great paint jobs/ conversions finished off the assault marines \o/ my 1,500 points (i take the same army list for every game) is slowly having all it's black undercoated models replaced with colour and detail! and i'm pleased to say painting these guys seems to have improved their skills in combat, i always knew the dice gods favoured painted models (or maybe i'm finally learning how to use them properly :P ) http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a396/r3c/pl001-1.jpghttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a396/r3c/pl002-1.jpg took a while to get a scheme i liked for the jump packs... i tried copying the marines normal backpack scheme, but the large area of gold was too over powering. the final scheme is a bit simpler and doesn't distract the eye from the rest of the model as much, i hope. nice how did you do the warning signs (yellow & Black Strips) on the backpack it looks so good Dark Angel Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144866-sons-of-taurus/page/3/#findComment-2170285 Share on other sites

Shiodome
chevrons are pretty easy to paint neatly. before highlighting anything, paint yellow stripes... don't worry about the ends being neat, and the edge of the surface will provide a neat end on one side at least. then with your background colour paint a line across the ends of the stripes to provide a neat clean edge. e.g http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a396/r3c/gw/chevron.jpg Finished the sternguard (huzaah!) to celebrate they went absolutely CRAZY in a game yesterday, destroying 3 IG tanks with 3 shots (a Leman Russ, a Vanquisher, and whatever tat tank is with the 20 shot gatling gun). The melta hit every time, penetrated every time (against av14 for 2 shots) and rolled a 5 or 6 to explode the tank every time. I submit this as proof that painted mini's perform better. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a396/r3c/gw/fyd001.png Next squad getting done is a bike squad... doing bikes first then riders. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a396/r3c/gw/say002.png Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144866-sons-of-taurus/page/3/#findComment-2175009 Share on other sites
