Been about six months since my last one. I've only done about half a dozen mini's ever. Let me know what you guys think. This model took me like 10 hours. This is also my first attempt at doing faces, or kind of special lighting on the fist. Any comments are very much welcome. Just say what I can do to fix it on this model or in the future. Thanks everyone! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144868-assault-cannon-terminator/ Share on other sites

Corax_rg
It had only been 20 minutes, the hall of honor is the slowest subforum in the PC&A. Give it time. I like the model, the yellow looks good, as does the lighting on the fist, and the base is cool. I think the face could use some work, but as its your first face, its good. Devon Mindal
THanks for the feedback. Sry i was so anxious... Does the yellow look... well... yellow enough? To me for some reason it always looks a little to green, but that could just be me. For my future models, i think i'll be doing a black PF, instead of the blue. And i'll keep working on the face... Bulganzi
I think the assault cannon would look better with the barrels drilled out and a little more work on the highlighting. The composition is decent the paint job is a little rough, maybe some light washes to smooth the detail out a bit and some edging with a fine brush on the yellow would be good, try 50/50 sunburst yellow and white for the highlights. it should look good. Other then that a good start on picking up the brush again. Devon Mindal
THanks... and i'll try that. For some reason yellow was really weird for me to work with cuz it always is looking to dark and to green and brown... but i don't know... Corax_rg
If you want a more yellow yellow, use a white under coat, it would be much brighter. I'd never have thought of basing or doing a pose like that after so little practice, so well done! For painting, yellow is very difficult to work with and you've taken on a lot to pull it off. The yellow has come out nice and bright. I would focus upon being neater with your lines in the future, and only getting the colour precisely where it should be. You might find thinning down your paint will help, if you haven't already. I say this in regard to the face, as it looks like it has a few layers. The armour looks smooth though - very difficult with yellow to achieve! Keep up the good work and keep painting! Devon Mindal
Thanks guys. I am thinning my paints a little bit, and the face has quite a few layers on it :P. Even though I haven't been painting, I have been looking at forums and such the entire time... so I have an idea of what I'm doing. And I do need to be a little more careful. I so rarly get a good day to sit down and paint, so when I do, I'll do it for like 10-12 hrs straight... and get kind of tired and wanting the model to show more progress, and rush... got to work on that. And i don't want to so much make the yellow brighter... but deeper... Cl4d
YOu need to be carefull with paintchips, I seem to see a lot of them arond the miniature, also the face is really... grainy I'm not sure if it's possible to fix that a this point but for the next miniature, less paint.
