Tranc
Hi! I'm new to this forum. I've been painting for a few years, though mostly Warhammer Fantasy figures. Recently, I've become attracted to the space marine miniature line and have just finished my first 40k vehicle. It was a lot of fun, so I thought I'd share :) http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj123/cttran77/Ultramarines/WhirlwindAuroraLeft.jpg http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj123/cttran77/Ultramarines/WhirlwindAuroraRight.jpg http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj123/cttran77/Ultramarines/UltramarinesWhirlwind.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144975-ultramarines-whirlwind/ Share on other sites
tybee154
Let me be the first to say that your painting is beautiful. I like the mud near the tracks on the whirlwind. All the models (the SMs and the whirlwind), all have very well defined colors. 10/10! Now go forth and defeat the foes of the Emperor! ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144975-ultramarines-whirlwind/#findComment-1680298 Share on other sites

Tranc
Thanks all for the very kind words! Midas - I painted a base coat of Ultramarine Blue, then I applied a light dry brush of black for grime. On top of that (though I left some black showing) I did a heavy dry brush of Scorched Brown which I thought looked a like rust or dried mud. Finally, I dry-brushed small areas near the bottom edges with Vermin Brown to represent fresh mud. Give it a try! The Emperor's Champion - The midget?!? :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/144975-ultramarines-whirlwind/#findComment-1680502 Share on other sites
