R-code
I have about 4 hours invested in this fellow. Subsequent minis should go by a lot faster now that I've got the colors worked out. All that's really left to do is hone my freehand skills and put a number over that tactical squad marking! ~Mike~ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/145253-first-completed-dark-angel-marine/ Share on other sites
tortoise
It's nice. I think it could do with some highlights though. Dark models look really flat on the tabletop without some quite exaggerated highlights. Isiah
I like him, just as DA should be – nice and dark :jaw:. Base is great too. Just another 40-odd to go then eh? ShinyRhino
Pretty good! And, you actually drilled the side vents of the meltagun! Neat! Kurgan the Lurker
The picture is very dark so it's hard to give an honest critique. You might also want to consider cropping out most of the background. Your pics right now are 1600x1200 with a lot of empty space. If you crop it down to just the mini and the base it works out better for everyone in the end. I'll try to up the light next time I take photos. ~Mike~ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/145253-first-completed-dark-angel-marine/#findComment-1684198 Share on other sites

R-code
very nice!!!! Is very good make in dark, I aplly ligths and.. well... I see your miniature and I think is better dark. How do you make the vents of the melta? I used a small hand drill. I started in the center of the barrel with a small bit, then I used larger and larger bits until I got the hole I was looking for. To do the vents I used the small bit again and poked three holes in each one. I cut the rest out with a hobby knife. Thanks for all the kind words everyone! I used the instructions right off of the GW website. Only modification to the paint mixtures was a 10:1 mix of paing:blending medium ~Mike~ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/145253-first-completed-dark-angel-marine/#findComment-1685988 Share on other sites
Plastic Rat
Like the model, nice and dark. I have to say though I have huge amounts of respect for you for drilling out the vents on that meltagun. Very, very impressive. /applauds Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/145253-first-completed-dark-angel-marine/#findComment-1688087 Share on other sites

Best I could do. ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/145253-first-completed-dark-angel-marine/#findComment-1689632 Share on other sites

Best I could do. Begger's can't be choosers :D I'll probably just break out a stronger light next time. I've got the other three marines in the combat squad base coated and the vet. sgt is almost done. Won't be long now :) ~Mike~ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/145253-first-completed-dark-angel-marine/#findComment-1690810 Share on other sites
