nurglespuss
Hi All! Well, I wanted something special for my sergeant, so I decided to heavily mod him, and give him a back story (to follow on completion). Basically his armour is designed for his armament, in that one half of his armour helps comprise his 'storm shield' while the other is left free to swing hammer etc. Anyway! Here are some WIP's please comment! (it helps), ou and by the way, his foot isnt tiny, its pointing upward (for the terrain) :nuke: (just noticed looked odd on photo). http://photos.l3.facebook.com/photos-l3-sf2p/v338/128/96/633810322/n633810322_3989969_5758.jpg http://photos.l3.facebook.com/photos-l3-sf2p/v338/128/96/633810322/n633810322_3989968_5400.jpg http://photos.l3.facebook.com/photos-l3-sf2p/v338/128/96/633810322/n633810322_3989967_5020.jpg http://photos.l3.facebook.com/photos-l3-sf2p/v338/128/96/633810322/n633810322_3989966_4678.jpg http://photos.l3.facebook.com/photos-l3-sf2p/v338/128/96/633810322/n633810322_3989965_4329.jpg http://photos-e.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v338/128/96/633810322/n633810322_3986700_7717.jpg http://photos-f.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v338/128/96/633810322/n633810322_3986701_8107.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/145286-thunder-hammerstorm-shield-specific-armour-project/ Share on other sites

Pulse
I have to say that your idea is fantastic! I love the idea that his armour is modified towards one side it gives the model such a unique look. On a realistic fluff side, if he was targeted by a few enemy soldiers his right side would be vunerable. Why not beef up his right arm and shoulder guard to match the left, but keep his legs and things the same? Just thought i would add that. Awesome work though matey, looking forward to seeing more! nurglespuss
@midas: Thanks :> working on the head at the mo  I should have recorded it as I went along... but basically after repositioning/cutting up the one led and back filling with green stuff, it was just a matter of using plasticard of varying thickness to layer on as heavier armour, and some inner workings/pistons made of greenstuff and plastic rod :> @aioannou: No don't change it! it just highlights my ignorance  thanks again :> Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/145286-thunder-hammerstorm-shield-specific-armour-project/#findComment-1684481 Share on other sites
Mr. Nipples
Truley epic very realistic armor, what thickness of Plasticard are you using? I agree with pulse, though there's a very easy solution to this problem; put the storm shield on his unarmoured side and have the hammer arm armoured up, that way he can still protect himself easily while swinging his hammer (i know this is the complete opposite to your original plan, so you can just ignore me if you want :P) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/145286-thunder-hammerstorm-shield-specific-armour-project/#findComment-1684500 Share on other sites
nurglespuss
Thanks to all! As I want to keep with my story, I'm gonna keep the 'flexible' side fairly unmodified, but your right it would look cool!! I'm using 1mm and 2mm thick plasticard :> He's fairly finished now, so new pics up top! nurglespuss
Thanks Pulse! :> I think story for his armour mod. is fighting in the Ziggurat of Harn, where the Hrudd adept at hiding, and sniping were causing an unacceptable ammount of casualties among the battle brothers, and Sergeant Porthos, having lost a number of his honoured terminators, requested his armour be modified, so that he could take the fight to the enemy, the techmarines grudgingly agreed, and together 'Storm pattern armour' was born. Sergeand Porthos earned the Star of Ural for the victory, and has since had the modifications made parmanent. Yeh that makes sence unless his hammer is infact a large boomerang... :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/145286-thunder-hammerstorm-shield-specific-armour-project/#findComment-1684711 Share on other sites
nurglespuss
LOL on a side note, I've always wanted terminators with power javelins :) get up close, throw javelins, in for the kill. Trajan
Amazing conversion, Nurglepuss!! Truly majestic. And please for the love of the Emperor, with your background story and all, please please please make one Sgt Porthos squad members in the same style, but all reinforced in the front. A Breach Terminator, first in. Allthough the Sgt could also do that, hm. Nice work anyway, keep it up!! :) -Trajan Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/145286-thunder-hammerstorm-shield-specific-armour-project/#findComment-1684969 Share on other sites
nurglespuss
Cheers Traj :> Hmmmm wish I had more termie bits! I think I may have to go back over my two lightning clawed ones and redo the green stuff, as I'm getting slowly better at it :) I like the rest, though, I may have to redo the shields! to match the sergeant more (sort of riot style/armoured shields, with vision slits)... the sculpting never ends! Although of course, this will make my test terminator redundent, as his sculpting is terrible! in comparison to the rest of the squad.. ah well! THanks again! Spacefrisian
I think you should make the emtire armour like that. That would give it something like "no one can stop me" feel to it.
