Honda
So, another chunk of my force ready for an upcoming Apocalypse game (mid-October). I was fairly impressed with the Vindicator model as far as construction goes, although it does take a bit of patience to get past the track assemblies. After that, things went together pretty quick. I kept the painting fairly simple, in line with my scheme, yet I wanted some identifiers that would tie the vindicators to my chapter, hence the large Omega symbols. The Emperor's Champion
Cool! Your army looks to growing at a fantastic rate. I think it's time for a picture of the whole army together to see how big it's gotten.
Honda
wow, I'm not the only one who did use the silly winches! Well, from a modeling perspective, it was an interesting idea and it certainly added something to the end of the vindi. But I tend to look at my models more as gaming pieces and that means that they have to be able to take a reasonable amount of handling. The shell assembly with the claws is only attached to the winch by a relatively thin piece of plastic. It didn't look like it would take much tension on that plastic ropet to snap...so I opted to put them together without it. Also, the Chaos version didn't sport it and it looked Ok to me, so... @EC: Soon. I have a couple of other projects in progress and when they are done I'll take some shots
Eiric Hakon
Those look realy good! As said before, the freehand is great! Heh "We came, We saw, We left nothing standing" I'm sorry but that is so very half inched!

Paulochromis
Cockney rhyming slang: half-inched rhtmes with pinched = stolen. Just curious, were you aware that the red omega was the symbol of the Sons of Orar (featured in the SM codex and/or How to Paint SM)? Nice models, VERY nice paintjobs! Cheers, Paul. Honda
I've stolen it, with your permission of course! Borrow? Absolutely! One of the things I love about this community is the fact that everyone contributes with the idea of sharing with others. I have a long list of stuff that I've either borrowed or will borrow in the future. Go for it! The phrase is also on the back of one of my Epic Warlord titans. ;) Just curious, were you aware that the red omega was the symbol of the Sons of Orar (featured in the SM codex and/or How to Paint SM)? B) Did you know that my chapter pre-dates the SoO? Did you know that the GW Omega Marines pre-date both efforts? I decided quite a while back that I was going to chart my own course, remain true to my fluff, my color scheme, and just keep plugging away no matter what. People are always going to come up with similar ideas and use them for their own. It's Ok. However, I will point out that the reason you won't ever see a preponderance of "Omega symbol" chapters out there is that in real life they are an extreme pain in the <pick your favorite body part> to paint on a shoulder pad. I've been putting them on various parts of my figs for a couple of years now and they still cause me to pause and count to ten on a regular basis...and I use a stencil. However, given that I still have three tactical squads, 2-3 assault squads, probably a couple honor squads, not to mention special characters, maybe some landraiders at some point and I'd like to think that I'll be bloody brilliant at it eventually...if I live long enough. :D Anyway, thanx for the C&C! Kushan Blackrazor
Always a joy to see these, Honda! Go big or go home should probably be your motto with the size your army is at! :)

Honda
have you considered making a GS cast of the symbol and them casting onto the shoulder pad? Oh, yes, I've thought about it. But I've also balanced trying to figure that out vs. just painting them and lamenting. So far, P&L has won out. However, I will look into that at some point. Brother Richard
Great work.. solid colors. Very impressive. I guess that the best comment I could make is that they don't look like toys. They have the presence of big mean machines.
