DeffWolf
firstly does anyone have a leman russ exterminator that is unpainted to say the very least? also is it worth it as 180 for a tank is a tad expensive when it does only have side 12? please can people tell me a little more about it? Max_Dammit
What is the exact question? I feel its not worth it in the new 5th ED, No more moving and shooting all guns so its become a static bunker. It does atract a lot of fire power and will live longer in 5th ED Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/145364-leman-russ-exterminator/#findComment-1685015 Share on other sites

Quillen
Indeed Land Riaders will get your Blood Claws and Grey Hunters there. As to tactics. Well you find a nice spot and shoot heck out fo his troop choices. Use it like a tank that can only kill infantry. Cause in effect, that is what it is. I have one for the modeling of it alone. I like the look of one made with Preditor turret and side sponces. They do draw fire thou. My friend used one in tournies for ever just to draw fire on it. And indeed in the new rules it will be a little harder to kill till scouts get behind/on it. Wolf89
To help protect my leman russ exterminator in 5th edition, I'd try to hide it as best I could, marines work wonders for this... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/145364-leman-russ-exterminator/#findComment-1685496 Share on other sites
WolfLordLars
You are better off getting other models, the Land Raider Crusader comes to mind. There are the regular rumors that we are going to loose it in future editions of our codex as well. Brother SRM
I have one that I modeled, and it has proved to be nearly useless in most games. Against horde armies it works wonders though. I used it against my buddy's Orks and cut a good chunk out of his lines!! Also, everyone has a preconceived notion of Leman Russes to be dangerous. This will draw fire to this tank and keep it off you're more dangerous vehicles like Dreads and Vindis. LoneSniperSG
... Are you really serious that the Exterminator can't move and unload all its guns the same time? ... But that was it's shining factor.. Even so, I'll keep mine. It's one of my centerpiece models, and I'll pay to use it if it means I can direct the fire of the enemy a little. WolfLordLars
Yup.. heavy bolters are 'main guns' now. I think I will try mine out against some orks tomorrow. With the range and its rep, it should draw alot of fire, which will help. Thraximus
Adding a pintle stormbolter can help with moving and shooting, if you want to spare the extra points. (I assume you can't take a heavy stubber). But a 180 points? Sheesh. Imperial guard don't pay that much. However, what you get is basically an extra beefy predator. And I have one sitting in its box, but its slated for my Imperial Guard project. Well the talked about model isn't 180 points, it actually totals 195 with the 3 heavy bolters added on... so yea... it's a "beefy" predator, considering in the next SM codex the predator will be around 80 points for the autocannon heavy bolter model... :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/145364-leman-russ-exterminator/#findComment-1686448 Share on other sites
